If Soundgarden is reforming then that is really exciting. Would definitely change my mood about his departure.

My heart is broken.  So privileged to see his last show.  I just know I’m going to cry like a baby the rest of the day.

I remember the last Wrigley show.  He said all the families were there. That it might be their last time at Wrigley together
    Was it a clue?

I don’t think I was quite ready for something like this.  It’s gotta sink in.

If Matt gave plenty of notice to the band about this, say 6 months to a year?  There’s a very good chance the replacement has been found already.  And has started to practice the material.

I wouldn’t be shocked if we get an announcement sooner than later on who the next drummer is.

    just my thoughts

I think there's a better chance of Dave Grohl joining Pearl Jam than there is of Matt Cameron joining Foo Fighters.     ;)

I remember thinking the champagne was odd but I have never been to an "end of the tour" show so I wasn't sure if they always did that?

I thought the champagne was a continued/celebration toast to Soundgarden/Matt making into the Rock and Roll HoF.

It did seem kind of celebratory.  I have to believe that Eddie would have been much more emotional and would have had a tough time getting through the last song that night if he knew for sure that was Matt's last show with PJ.

They did that at one of the other shows to celebrate the Rock and Roll HoF. I can't remember which one, though.

I think it had to be ATL, as they mentioned it again in Nashville.

Correct. The champagne toast for Soundgarden RRHOF was ATL Night 1.

Since 2022 I started realizing that PJ could come to an end relatively soon. During the DM tour these feelings have grown. With the end of the wonderful MC chapter, the heart of a rock band, I am frightened that they won't be together longer than 2026. Really hope I'm wrong..

Wild being at the last 2 shows with MC in the band.  Also seeing You Are in Vegas in 2024... One of my white whale songs - and likely the last time they'll ever play it live.

Amazing drummer and an even better person from what I hear.

Grateful for everything he has brought to the best band in the world. So glad I saw them three times last year!!!

    Take care Matt.

    I love me some MFC!
    Sad, but kinda relieved though.
The rumor that I was told before a flight to Nashville was that it was going to be a band members last show in Pittsburgh.
They said it was gonna be Mike that was leaving. Maybe to throw me off.
Love MFC, but no PJ without Mike.

I didn't take it seriously, but they insisted and said to do everything I could to get to Pittsburgh.  Hmmm. Missed those.

I am not in the " know" at all, but I'm pretty sure the band has known for quite a while.

My first show was in 1998 so all I've ever known is Matt behind the kit...until the Oakland 2022 shows where he was stuck in Arizona with COVID. While I was amazed at what songs they were able to pull off without him, there definitely felt like something was missing. There were very few Gigaton songs played over those two nights.
I also had a ticket to Sacramento 2022 which got cancelled when Jeff got COVID. Thankfully, they were able to reschedule Sac for 2024 and I was able to see him behind the kit one last time. They even played Dance of the Clairvoyants, which I was really excited about.
Matt really stabilized the lineup when he stepped in for the 1998 tour, and I will always be grateful for that.
