and why the heck do they wave Mexican flags, a place so terrible, they had to leave to allegedly enter the US illegally. If it’s so great, theyll give you a thousand bucks to go back.
Come on. Is this really where you ended up on this?
So….i think it’s really dumb that they do that as well. Imagine immigrants clashing with police and flying the American flag….much better optics. But of course it doesn’t surprise me that they don’t think things through.
I think the media are intentionally ignoring the fact that, as in the devastating 2020 Minneapolis riots, outside agitators are joining in.
Some of these agitators are not only paid, but are compensated for their travel and lodging expenses.

You guys actually back this clown? And probably voted for him? Seriously?

At 5:06 p.m. this evening, Trump’s social media account posted: “A once great American City, Los Angeles, has been invaded and occupied by Illegal Aliens and Criminals. Now violent, insurrectionist mobs are swarming and attacking our Federal Agents to try and stop our deportation operations—But these lawless riots only strengthen our resolve. I am directing Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi, in coordination with all other relevant Departments and Agencies, to take all such action necessary to liberate Los Angeles from the Migrant Invasion, and put an end to these Migrant riots. Order will be restored, the Illegals will be expelled, and Los Angeles will be set free.” He followed this statement with that odd closing he has been using lately: “Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Backing who? Trump? How is criticism
of vandalism police cars, burning cars, throwing bricks backing Trump?
Riots did breakout during the LA protests. Don’t know why some refuse to admit that. I really don’t know what that conversation has to do with Trump or who you voted for.

Its unfortunate some are so insecure someone else had to be called an a hole in that forum and you had to join pjs, who called me a liar on this topic.

as I’ve said three times, now four, I live in the area my entire life and know plenty of teachers personally. Teachers who choose to make it a career will get their masters in education and get rewarded with tenure and an excellent salary.

I also posted AI GENERATED FACTS ABOUT THE SUBJECT, with reference to the local paper, and you chose to side with someone who lives three thousand miles from the area and clearly knows zilch about it.

seriously folks, this crap needs to stop.

I look forward to the “LA has fallen” thread. Like Seattle. Speaking of which, any updates on Seattle’s demise? Anyone?
Why is it always a joke around here?

The over generalizations and assumptions that what you “know” and “experience” apply “everywhere” and to “everyone.” That’s what needs to stop.

Sure they were mostly peaceful, but if they burn one car, shut down one highway, trump has all he needs to send in troops.

It’s always a joke lol. Even when it’s a deadly serious problem.

The problem with allowing people to stay who have come here illegally is that some of them are bad actors and will ruin it for everyone. That’s applicable to those from Mexico, Central America, and Hamas supporters. It should be obvious that Biden’s puppeteer policies caused trump to win. That statement alone should be enough for you to not trust democrats the next few years.

The problem I see is that the right just wants to label everything a riot and ignore the cause and circumstances surrounding the unrest while in other cases the left wants to downplay the riot and focus on the peaceful part and the human rights issues. Both of these aspects are an accurate account of some of what is happening. Unfortunately the bully in the pulpit wants to use it as an opportunity to suppress free speech and assembly through force. Basically setting up the next Kent State. It's almost like a game that the right likes to play where they try to trap you by saying you support the protests and then labeling you as someone who promotes criminal behavior. The focus should be on shutting down the small pockets of violence and damage so that those who do want to protest and not riot are able.

Another interesting take on this is the mentality that the right is trying to push that riots are just people who want to cause destruction for no reason and are just bad people instead of being able to understand that riots stem from certain populations/people being pushed to their limits by actions imposed on them or against them. In some cases, the rioters have been misled or lied to (J6) and there is no basis for there to be civil unrest, but in most, it's a minority or impoverished group who has had enough of police state/oppressive action against them.

I won't post the long and drawn out theories on riots and what leads to them, but there is some pretty good information that really breaks down the sociological aspects of why they happen and how we shouldn't just try to write off rioters as bad actors or scum of the earth looking to break shit for no reason. Sure, those people do exist, but it's not the majority.
    It's a hopeless situation...

I didn’t say anything about it being a riot, it was, or not. I’m pointing out the clown in the Oval Office and how you’re being played. It’s okay to admit that you voted for COOTWH.

Read COOTWH’s tweet. You okay with it, Mace? You’re all in, aren’t you?
The debate was if it’s a riot or protest. You bring up Trump, quote him and say we must agree with him. It’s easy to infer you say that because of our stance that it’s a riot. It clearly is a riot. There are also peaceful protestors. You can have both.

You agree with all of it though, don’t you? What’s causing the riots, you agree with mass round ups and ignoring constitutional rights and civil liberties. I get it. Why you can’t admit that is beyond me.

I didn’t mention anything about the riot one way or the other. I posted COOTWH’s bizarre tweet and asked if you seriously support the POS. It appears that you do. If not, tell me. Who’d you vote for in 2024?

Fox news called it "a riot" and then posted footage of protesters peacefully walking around with signs.
    Oooooooookay.
At what point is it a protest turned riot?
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/June_2025_Los_Angeles_protests

Wikipedia also describes it as a riot. I know they’re not an official source of news, but just saying it isn’t just Fox.

“On June 6, protests against the raids turned into street riots when protestors clashed with the Los Angeles Police Department and ICE.”

Besides blocking roads, they also hurled concrete, bricks and set cars on fire. And allegedly a Molotov cocktail was thrown at police.
Obviously the majority of people gathered were not engaged in vandalism and violence, but how many does it need to e to go from a protest to a riot? In my opinion, I think when people from the group start throwing deadly objects and police and set cars on fire, you’ve crossed that line.

Most of the protesters were peaceful.  But peaceful does not make for good sensationalist news and we just LOVE our sensationalist news.  We don't care about what really happens.  We need action, man!  Burning and violence, not a bunch of boring peaceful protesters.  Give us some good old Rambo!

I think the immigration system is broken. I think illegal immigrants who are criminals (outside of immigration status) should be deported.
But I don’t agree with most of what Trump says. I’ve said he’s acting like a clown on other threads. He’s embarrassing. I don’t agree with massive ICE roundups. Peaceful protesting is okay, but throwing bricks at moving government vehicles and personnel, setting fire to cars should result in arrests.
I said back during the election that I didn’t like any candidate on the main tickets and was planning to vote for an alternative. Beyond that I haven’t said, nor do I plan to, share who I voted for.

The governor of CA should be arrested? Whaaaaaaat? Hey, but at least we’re getting flag poles at the White House, eh.

    President Trump Speaks to Reporters

President Trump spoke to reporters about the immigration-related protests in Los Angeles, saying he would arrest Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA), then said he liked the governor but was bad at his job. President Trump also said those people protesting the arrests by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) were "agitators."Show Less

I look forward to the “LA has fallen” thread. Like Seattle. Speaking of which, any updates on Seattle’s demise? Anyone?
if you were not paying attention, seattle was burned to ashes and has been relegated to the dustbin of history. it is stricken from the textbooks. it is only mentioned from time to time as a lesson and a cautionary tale. kind of like sodom, and/or gomorrah.

COOTWH is sending in the Marines. To LA. What a fucking “tough” guy! Will they have live ammo? Been trained in riot control? What, pray tell, requires the Marines to be deployed to LA? Guess local law enforcement and the National Guard are incompetent pussies?

Wow, deploying active duty military personnel to quell civilian protests/riots. This will end well.
