Oh man, so blessed to have travelled far for this one. Many songs last night hit home hard for me.

Hidden gem for me….After 27 years I finally got to hear a ‘War Pigs’ tag from the master Mike McCready. My brain could barely contain the pressure when it happened. So nostalgic and perfect for ‘Alive’.

Any chance this could be finally recognised as a legit ‘Tag’ to a song? 🙏

We all dream of being asked what song we want to hear at a show, which is a lot of pressure, and @Shaindli1 did not let anyone down.
I would have said Of the Earth and Ed would have said no! Lol

band was on fire last night. I came to Pitt for Got to Give. Sunday is just icing on the cake.
Similarly I added Pitt last minute (in part to hang with touring fans one last time for a while), but the FOMO of missing out on Got to Give.

Yeah, Of the Earth would have got shot down.  Maybe 10% chance.  I'm guessing they had rehearsed Grievance on this tour before (but maybe not since they botched the ending).

It hit me last night that this is the end of the Dark Matter tour.  Best tour since the Lightning Bolt 2013 run.

Mike absolutely destroyed the solo in black    So damn good.  Hot take but I like Jeremy live better than evenfkow    Baba was off the charts, severed hand and grievance were standouts for me.  Haven’t heard man of the hour since 2006, loved it.  .  Loved seeing stone, Jeff and Matt stare at each other during the baba finale all concentrating real hard.    Awesome show!!!

Great show.  Severed Hand is so great live.  Glad that one has made a comeback.  Grievance was a nice surprise even if it wasn’t perfect.  Comatose was great.  Footsteps and Low Light great start.  Always love SOLAT.  Other than Daughter the hits still sound great.  The it’s ok tag was cool but in general that song doesn’t do it for me live anymore. Dark Matter songs sound great live.  Looking forward to Sunday.  So much fun to be in the room when these guys are playing together.  Treasure it

I wasn’t there but the last 2-3 years I agree about daughter. If there’s two hits I’d like to see take a break it’s that and evolution. Jeremy is sounding better than ever and the crowd loses their shit when it’s played.

Agree on Evolution too.  It just doesn’t sound right to me.  Used to be one of my favs but just doesn’t sound the same.

It goes without saying but Mike is amazing on guitar. I would also recommend not missing Teen Jesus as the openers. Those girls can rock!!
    Agree about Teen Jesus!
Been listening to them on Apple and saw something on YouTube - Ed talking about them…together for ten years..been friends all along…that’s what happens when friends play music together…won an award for best up and coming (I think that was the category).

We thought they did an excellent job but they need better sound equipment, but who doesn’t until you make it really big?

Kind of hoping the bands wives and daughters had something to do with these girls headlining (not that the band wouldn’t) because I think the band respects their significant others and offsprings opinions.

Shoutout to the guy who puked all over the stairs between sec 105 and 106. Maybe next time stick to water.
Would be great if he was in 10c and started a Pittsburgh Puke ‘25 thread.

Traveled from Philly for these two shows in the Burgh.  Night 1 did not disappoint!  I agree with virtually every post in this show thread. Superb set with the “hand” trifecta, Footsteps as an opener, Grievance (nice job lady that picked it!), Got to Give, Man of the Hour, and the Bruce cover.  Indifference is an excellent closer after Baba.  Loved it. Minor gripe with Do The Evolution being played every show on this tour (I was at the FLA shows too). Love the song live usually, but it doesn’t deserve that status.  Again, minor complaint but constantly playing it does take a space from another potential rare gem!  Looking forward to N2. Enjoyed my rest day chilling in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of this city I love. Have a late night dinner with friends on tap in a few hours. Love the rest day between shows (unlike in Austin a couple years ago with a back to back) to recharge.  Bring on the last show of this tour tomorrow!

I mean, everything about this show was perfection. They played fucking Comatose. I couldn't stop screaming.
The hand trilogy (first time ever?).

And then the unbelievable happened. Ed asked ME to pick a song. Wut. Wut. Wut. Without hesitation - Grievance. It was a fucking MOMENT. And I got a pick and a fist bump. How. How. How.

Nothing will ever top that. I am still digesting.
I am hoping they will have a N1 shirt in the merch tent tomorrow because you bet I really want to commemorate this event now.

    And they played Grievance perfectly.
    Great pick.  Rocked out.

I wonder what they would have done if you said Dirty Frank?!?!?
