There's a rumor going around that one single person bought all the plates at the merch stand due to no limits?  Discuss...

One person purchased at least 25 that we could see.

The reason for the show stoppages was the dude dropped his box of license plates on people's toes. 😁

I know it would never happen, but it would be great if he couldn't sell a single one of those for profit.

Flippers are going to take advantage of these kinds of situations if you let them.

It is up to the bands merch team and the venue to do better.

My guess is they were buying extras for all the people here that weren’t going to the show but wanted one. Sure you offered something in trade, but fans at the show that were standing in line still ended up with nothing. Same thing.

People who buy from flippers are part of the equation.

Then the trickle down effect that occurs causes more problems: “damn, they sold out of plates, the thing I really wanted. Hmmm, I should now buy an extra poster and a couple tokens and event T-shirts so that I can try to trade for a plate”.

After this, posters run out, event T-shirts, etc.

    it’s a lose-lose 👎🏻

    100% the second one.
People will do as much as they are allowed to do. If that same guy was told to only buy 2, he would have probably only bought the 2 and not thought a single thing about it after.

Well... he'd probably go get his minions together and see if they all got 2. Obviously a flipper

Jfc for me, the only reason to buy multiple if something (stickers or buttons) would be to gift them to my many PJ fans coworkers. Would never flip and screw over other fans!

I only trade stickers. But man.. being a Steeler and Penguins fan I want a license plate and not from a flipper. I'll wait in line but if you wait hours for one thing and it's gone right away it is infuriating

And many of those people will pay $50 if not more per plate.

Sadly, as said, there'll always be people who feed into the flippers because they just see it as their money for someone else's time.

I can certainly understand a situation where someone would have to pay a reasonable fee ("My merch bill is $150 and that's what I charge you") or "just a little so I can get a beer during the show" but something like $199.95+50ship for a poster is ridiculous. You can usually spot the obvious flippers because they're the ones on eBay asking stupid shipping prices and in the groups with those dumb raffles the day after the tour ends.
Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"

Exactly. Staff member probably didn't care or didn't know what they were doing. Maybe not trained well by their supervisors.
