Yes, we're still going. I refuse to let the orange one dictate where I find joy in my life. We will be keeping a low profile and leaving anything Canadiana at home. No Tragically Hip t-shirts, No PJ t-shirts from Canadian show dates. If things get even uglier between now and then, we'll re-evaluate. Hopefully my "eh's?" don't give me away.blairs1 said:For my fellow Canadians - are you still attending shows this spring or nah?Hopeful for something this side of the border..sooner than later but not looking likely.

I don't have tickets so I don't have the dilemma. But if a show was announced in Seattle or Bellingham (I'm in Vancouver) I wouldn't go. It would be a very small sacrifice for me in the larger scheme of things. This is more than just politics. It's about basic human rights. As for my countries sovereignty, people have died protecting that. The least I can do is miss a concert or change my vacation plans. The earliest I'll cross the border is 2029 depending what happens that election (if there is one).blairs1 said:For my fellow Canadians - are you still attending shows this spring or nah?Hopeful for something this side of the border..sooner than later but not looking likely.Post edited by halv on0 -

I don't know what I'd do if I had tickets. I'd probably still go. It's easy for me to say "I'm not crossing that border" cuz I currently have no reason to go there. But I'm not planning any recreational trips there while the not-so-great pumpkin is running things. We had a trip planned to go to Houston to visit friends and catch a Metallica show. We ended up cancelling the trip. Reallocating the resources towards seeing Oasis play in Toronto (a band I've never seen, which is kind of rarity for me). It doesn't feel right going to the U.S. right now. Which is crazy because I've loved going to the U.S. my whole life. Seattle is only 130km from here. I see the Olympic Mountains every day. Never put any thought into taking the ferry over in my entire life. So weird to feel this way now. I hope it gets better down there in the future, but to threaten us with economic crippling tariff's and annexation? It's doesn't feel right to me. I hope the situation improves with time, but I don't see any catalysts to make that happen. The tough one would be of PJ announced something like the Gorge. Dear God it would take all my willpower not to go.The upside, is generally were not very adventurous people, so maybe it's going to Eastern Canada or Europe to get my PJ fix in the future

ABSOLUTELY! I feel exactly the same way about Canadians coming to visit us down here. Our President and his followers are an embarrassment to us all. Elections have consequences and we are now having to deal with them. It sucks.Go Animal said:

Yep, I’m glad to see people speaking with their wallets but if you do come don’t think you’ll be treated poorly. I’ll buy any Canadian a beer for dealing with this bullshit. This show, another show, a show here and a show there.0
