Anyone following this story about the nasty Dallas Brody, an MLA in Vancouver, who is so mad about reconciliation, and who mocked the testimony of past residential school victims and got booted out of the BC Conservative party for it? Of course she is claiming it's because of her opions and not her aggregiously disgusting behaviour during a podcast. She is quite the piece of work. Check out what she's done now. She posted this on X. Whoa nelly.

So now 2 other MLAs have also left caucus over her being kicked out of it, and now these rebels are talking about forming their own caucus, I guess on the platform of shutting down First Nation tribes who want to develop on their lands. Only rich white people are allowed to be elite property developers, dangnammit!!

Average salary, per capita gdp, employment rates, economic growth, investment, all substantially better in the US. And that’s with historically beneficial trade terms for Canada. Clean up the northern border, and we’ll be good.

None of that matters. Only one metric does: people in canada are happier than americans.

How is that even accurately measured? Happiness. I’m not arguing because I genuinely don’t care who’s happier. But it just seems like something that’s not measurable accurately.

Thanks but before I read through 4 links do you know if it says how specifically happiness is measured? It just seems like a silly statistic. I could lie and tell you I’m happy.

The results are based on self-assessments from people in more than 140 countries who are answering questions regarding their overall satisfaction with their lives. The study also takes into account six key variables which contribute to explaining life evaluations, including GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom, generosity and corruption. Then to help understand the differences seen between countries, they look at six factors: the nation's healthy life expectancy, economy (GDP per capita), levels of corruption, social support, generosity and freedom.

Our survey was conducted online with 1,500 Canadians and 1,500 Americans aged 18 and over from March 4th to March 7th, 2021. A random sample of panellists was invited to complete the survey from a set of partner panels based on the Lucid exchange platform. These partners are double opt-in survey panels, blended to manage out potential skews in the data from a single source.

The margin of error for a comparable probability-based random sample of the same size is +/- 2.2%, 19 times out of 20.

In Canada the data were weighted according to census data to ensure that the sample matched Canada’s population according to age, gender, educational attainment, and region.

In the United States the data were weighted according to census data to ensure that the sample matched the United States’s population age, gender, region and ethnicity.

Totals may not add up to 100 due to rounding.
