Pittsburgh 2006-first show of the second leg of the tour; Encore 1 included Man of the Hour, Waiting on a Friend (yep, The Rolling Stones cover!), Small Town and (in my opinion) the best version of Black that I have ever heard.

The Italy run is generally fantastic, especially Torino, where Avocado was played in full. Beyond that, I’d highly recommend Portland, Santa Barbara, Newcastle, Brisbane (Night 2), Honolulu, and the standout bootleg of the tour—Lisbon (Night 2)

Listened to Albany at the gym last night. Matt’s drums during the interlude on Marker was next level. I have to finish up the encore in the car today.
Next is going to be Newcastle and it’ll be the only time I don’t skip Alive 🤣
What blows my mind with listening to all these shows over the years is how Ed’s voice changes by the year. 2000 to 2003 to 2005/2006 is so different.
I was really tempted to go back to Halifax, Hamilton, St John’s 2 and Kitchener 2005 but no we’re on 2006 damnit

East Rutherford shows… very odd that year.  They played the same three songs to open back to back shows in the same city…. Severed Hand, Corduroy, and WWS.  When was the last time that happened before or since?

Almost 20 years later and I’m still looking for an explanation! 😂
I remember that and was like what are they doing?
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

Honolulu 12/2 was my first PJ since 94 and was an insanely hot show. I recently relistened and sweet Jesus they are fired up from the first tune. Obviously strong attendance bias, but easily one of the best PJ shows I've ever heard and definitely my favorite attended, even over the Ten show

We were also lucky enough to have them open for U2 a week later, which was fun but not even close to the Blaisdell show

The version of porch from Albany is one of the best ever.   It s when their jams went somewhere.  Freaking phenomenal.

  • If you look up the times before Albany they played Mosquito, Satans, and Rats…it’s fucking wild they played all three in one show.

San Diego has the quintessential Long Road.

Torino has the full Avocado, also great otherwise.

But they're all fun to listen to with so many Avocado songs in the mix.

It was one of those nights that reminded you why you keep going to shows. Even if they are 2.5 hours away in a crappy city.

Boston 1 is my pick. Boston 2 may be the obvious choice, but the energy of Boston 1 was insane. Up there with best MSG and Philly shows.
