Pennsylvania police have detained a man they view as a "person of interest" and that they suspect is the killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
A NYPD police source confirmed Altoona, Pennsylvania, police today took in for questioning a man located at a McDonald's after a local citizen notified police.
The man was found sitting in the restaurant. He was found to have a gun similar to the type believed to be used in the murder of Thompson.
The unidentified man was found to have had fake ID on him.
A New York police source says he appears to be the suspect, noting strong similarity to eyebrows of the man captured in surveillance video.

*I'm amazed the killer would still be packing that cannon, unless he discarded the suppressor.

Police found a 2 page letter on the guy railing against the healthcare industry and stating violence is the answer....Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)

ANOTHER UPDATE, PER NEWSMAX.
The man, who is believed to be identified as Luigi Mangione, was found to have had fake IDs on him, sources told Newsmax, and various reports say the silencer and multiple fake IDs were all found.
A LinkedIn profile of a man by that name says Mangione is a data engineer for TrueCar, but this is unverified information not confirmed by police.
A New York police source says he appears to be the suspect, noting strong similarity to eyebrows of the man captured in surveillance video.
Also, the man was found with a manifesto that criticized healthcare companies for putting profits above care, The New York Times reported Monday, citing a senior law enforcement official.
One of the cards matched the name used by the suspected gunman to check into a hostel in Manhattan before the shooting.

I don't expect people to mourn or do much more than go about their day. I even accept some "well, insurance companies deny people into their graves" type of comments. But the glee was astonishing to me.
Really? I'm completely unsurprised and totally understand it. It is a perfect reflection of how fucked up and evil the American healthcare insurance system really is. It's a human rights crime. This reaction from the public with this killing makes perfect sense IMO.
I wonder what the NDP would say to that, are they satisfied with available care in Canada? Access to a GP? ER wait times? Specialist wait times?
Hey Google, what country has the longest wait times for healthcare? The American insurance system has its challenges, but overall The majority of Americans have access to the best healthcare - which country is more responsible than the United States in developing new procedures, new treatments, and new medicine?
I get absolutely fantastic healthcare in Canada, and frankly, i've personally never had to wait any length of time for any healthcare. Of course, it is far from perfect, and we really need more GPs (although there are viable alternatives), but nobody is refused medical treatment that they need, nobody goes broke because of medical needs, everybody has rapid access to essential, life saving medical treatment, and there isn't a massive divide between the care that the rich get and the care that they poor get. This "wait time" defense wheb the disgusting American healthcare system is dicussed makes zero sense to me, because there is no defense for a system that puts profit above health.
A lot of the advances the world enjoys is because of the American Health Care system. Without it, things like cancer would be killing more people. And when I'm citing waiting times I'm referring to objective statistics, and of course from watching the national on CBC.0 -

Luigi had a lot going for him. Now he's going to die in prison. That's a huge sacrifice.

Sounds like he was a spinal fusion patient dealing with chronic pain and surgery delays. Still doesn't excuse acts of violence .0 -
He’ll get healthcare there tho0
