  • Corn in mac & cheese? What kind of unholy abomination is that? You should have called the police for culinary crimes.
Yeah that’s a crime ☝️we make MAC & cheese for Xmas but we add lobster meat!
Mexican street corn is kind of like a mac n cheese, no?  Its sweet corn and cream.  Pretty darn tasty actually.

I should be clear...corn in GOOD mac & cheese isn't anything I would have a problem with. Having good mac & cheese prepared and then pouring a can of corn over it (including water) would knock down a good mac & cheese dish a few notches.

Starting with a puke pile of mac & cheese and pouring a watery can of corn in it it what I brought up.

Yeah you can’t just do that! The less the better I say just leave Mac&Cheese alone

Thanks Crojam! Do you do anything unique on this day? I do not get the obsession with Mac & Cheese at Thanksgiving. I like it as a bbq side if it is made well, but so often it is not.

I’m going to my friends house in an hour out in Port Jefferson… he has big family get together , then for desert I’m going to another friends before crashing on my couch later to watch stranger things… nothing too crazy,… looking forward to some spiked Cider and  some “ fixins” as famously mentioned on Eastbound & Down 🤣… i love sweet potato casserole, stuffing, stuffed mushrooms … I burn out on it quick

  • Having a low key thanksgiving. For the first time, this year, we got a turkey breast instead of a whole turkey. There’s only 3 of us to feed so it’s a little easier. Not sure how I’ll feel without having a turkey leg, but the ease of cooking should make up for it. As always, I’m here for the stuffing and the sides…

Yes. Always low key here. I cook a whole turkey. Free from work. A little much. More about the prep and anticipation. Sides are where it's at. + leftovers.
Gravy came out great. Pan dripping with the wine butter and oj. Flour and simmer.
Everything is so rich. I'll be ok. Thankful for all the food.

Happy Thanksgiving! Spent the afternoon hiking near the top of Beech Mountain in North Carolina. Then, we had a big dinner spread, followed by some football. Heading to Asheville tomorrow for the day.

You know it’s a good one when you take home more than some. Leftovers or someone’s ultra right wing take on something 🤣… I made the catch though…. Was drinking a good amount of red wine, and forgot I’m old and prob need my arm other than catching a football on the hard ground… it looked soft. …

More than a thousand flights canceled between Ohare and Midway. People stranded for 24 hours. Airports shut down for hours.

Yet our 2 flights couldn't have been more uneventful. Zero delays. Zero issues.

It was like a Twilight Zone episode.

Everyone else was dealing with a catastrophic event.
My wife and I just went about our business.
