That’s great you can do multiplication and determine what number is bigger, well done. The problem is that you’re assuming that ALL 10 million contribute nothing to society, don’t earn money, don’t spend money, don’t do jobs that a lot of Americans aren’t interested in for a lot less than Americans would be willing to do it for. Of course there are exceptions but painting every illegal with the same brush is just ignorant. Fears over President-elect Trump’s plan to declare a state of emergency at the border and make use of the military as part of a mass deportation plan have been overblown, according to one expert.
"The country is not going to be militarized," Alfonso Aguilar, a former chief of the U.S. Office of Citizenship and the director of Hispanic engagement at the American Principles Project, told Fox News Digital. "Neighborhoods with immigrants are not going to militarize."
The comments come after Trump confirmed Monday via Truth Social a report that he is "prepared to declare a national emergency and will use military assets to reverse the Biden invasion through a mass deportation program."
"The American people re-elected President Trump by a resounding margin, giving him a mandate to implement the promises he made on the campaign trail. He will deliver," Karoline Leavitt, a spokesperson for the Trump transition team, told Fox News Digital.

(Rebecca Noble/Getty Images)Such plans have been rumored for much of Trump’s campaign, raising fears among some critics that a future Trump administration would deploy the military onto American streets.
"They are promising to use the military to do mass raids of American families at a scale that harkens back to some of the worst things our country has done," Todd Schulte, the president of FWD.us, an immigration advocacy organization, told The Associated Press in October.
But Aguliar argued that the military is to play a support role, providing logistics support to the U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
"There is a lot of fearmongering from the left and many in the media," Aguliar said. "These are not going to be sweeps of neighborhoods, these are going to be targeted arrests… initially going after criminals."
"I would anticipate that the military would participate in a supportive capacity," he continued. "You’re detaining people, you’re going to need to move these people and provide shelter."

Aguilar pointed out that federal law limits how Trump can use the military domestically, meaning ICE officers are likely to lead deportation efforts with a logistical hand from the military. On the border, the military would serve as a show of force while also helping be the eyes and ears for Border Patrol officers who are stretched thin across multiple sectors."That’s historically how we use the military," Aguliar said. "Force projection to dissuade people from coming in, but their role is basically to help detect… helping move [migrants] to buses… all the logistical support."
Aguliar also argued that ICE is likely to make wider use of workplace raids, where again the military’s logistical might could be harnessed to assist with detaining and transporting arrested migrants.
"They’re not going to set loose the military in neighborhoods trying to detect illegal immigrants," Aguliar said.
Meanwhile, many blue state leaders have announced plans to push back against Trump’s deportations plans, with Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey saying she is prepared to use "every tool in the tool box" to protect the state’s migrant residents and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker vowing to "do everything that I can to protect our undocumented immigrants."
"We cannot prohibit them, federal law enforcement, from coming into our state to, you know, conduct raids or do anything else like that," Pritzker said last week. "Meanwhile, I think it would be very difficult for them to just spread out across the country. They don’t have enough manpower within the Department of Homeland Security in order to carry that out."

Actor William Shatner admitted to "Real Time" host Bill Maher that he didn't understand why Vice President Kamala Harris lost the 2024 election, as the pair discussed what went wrong for the Democratic Party on Maher's "Club Random" podcast on Sunday.
Maher opened his show suggesting the left's "intolerance" to Democrats who don't toe the party line on every issue cost them votes this election.
"Conservatives are much more tolerant of people they don’t like. It's the liberals who are purists, especially the ones in this town. They are the ones who say if you don’t agree with me one million percent, I don’t even want to know you. That’s one of the reasons they lost. They have a bad attitude," he told Shatner.
But Shatner admitted he was baffled by the election results. "I don’t know why Democrats lost. I don’t understand [it]," he said.

Maher argued that President Biden was partly to blame for staying in the race too long.
"That, I understand," Shatner replied. "But inflation? Prices have come down, the economy is good. I don't know why they voted against her, against the party," he said.
Inflation and high costs of living consistently charted as top concerns for voters in polls leading up to the election.
Maher said that Harris "was not a great candidate" either.
"Let's be honest," he said. But Shatner defended Harris.
"Why isn't she a great candidate?" he asked. "She combined several trends of thought here. Black, a woman," he offered."That’s not a candidate," Maher pushed back. "That’s identity politics."
"But those are elements!" Shatner argued.
Maher conceded that while some voters will vote for a candidate simply because they "look like them," this election proved "you have to go a lot further than that" to win over voters.
"You can’t just be, woman. Black person. I mean, Trump got a quarter of Black men!" Maher said.
"He didn’t do much better because the women are very much against him but he killed it with Latinos. Is there any great irony that the guy who came down the elevator ten years ago talking about the ‘rapists’ — they keep giving him more of their votes," Maher said, claiming that he understood why Harris lost better than the Democratic Party did.
"Democrats don’t understand their own constituencies. If you are a Mexican-American, who do you fear taking your job? The guy who just came in through the border! Of course they like the guy who says, ‘I’m going to keep everybody out,’" he continued.
"He doesn't say, 'I'm keeping everybody out.' I'm going to send everybody out,'" Shatner disagreed.
Maher insisted that Democrats would have had much better chances at winning the election if they hadn't put in Harris at the last minute.
"If Biden had got out earlier, they had a true primary season to find the best candidate, not just one whose turn it was. By the way, before they anointed her, nobody was sort of on the page that she was very good at being a candidate," he said of Harris.
"She failed the first time," Shatner agreed, referring to the VP's 2019 presidential campaign that didn't make it past the primaries.
Maher also hit the Biden-Harris administration for its "pointless reversal" of Trump's Remain in Mexico policy.
"[They] let in too many people. Not that we shouldn't be a nation of immigrants. But it turned into a lawless a s--- show for years," he said.
This isn't the first time since the election that Maher has reprimanded the Democratic Party for failing to understand its constituents.
Maher opened his first post-election "Real Time" show by telling his party to "look in the mirror" and realize that "woke" policies and a bad candidate lost them the election. He has since scolded his party for "doubling-down" on far-left policies.
The "Real Time" host previously predicted Harris would win the election after the September presidential debate.

You’re missing my point entirely. Do you think every undocumented immigrant contributes nothing? Do you not think a significant portion work in jobs that Americans have no interest in doing for a lot cheaper? What does that do for you? Lowers prices. What about the businesses that hire them? Do you think they’re running that business for free? It’s a much more complicated ecosystem of money moving around, lowering prices, businesses earning revenue that makes it back into the economy. The deportation process I proposed off the top of my head saves the US taxpayers $178B over 4 years. $44B and change per year. The budget from Veterans Affairs for homeless vets is $3.2B for fiscal year 2025. Do you hate American veterans?
