Agreed with all of the last several comments.
My  guess is that what this all adds up to is that the next four years at best are going to be tedious, stagnant at times, at least a bit nauseating (I'm there already, haha!), frustrating, and a slow grinding down of common sense and quality of life.  And at worst, some things I don't even want to think about.
What is hardest to imagine is that anything good will come out of the next four years.  That would be like says, "We're going to beat you over the head for four years but maybe that will give you a cool new look."

That would be good.  But there are a few problems regarding the media.  One issue is that too many people no longer get news or information from what we long considered standard media.  There are all this outlets now that feed bullshit to people or simply lie (gee, who set that example?!)
The other problem is that the papers and news outlets that might be prone to being critical of the Felon are running scared.  And probably for a good reason, but if enough voices of reason and truth and defense of democracy, we might as well just concede to living under autocratic rule.

This is a fairly optimistic hope. The people in charge were great at being the opposition party, as evidenced by the party's performance last month. The problem is that none of them has the first damn clue how to run a government. They're approaching everything from a ideological point-of-view. Even if Trump and Elon cared about this country and its people (they don't) the ineptitude would be too much to endure. In 2017, Trump at least surrounded himself with people who had some sense of how the government operated. Now it's all ideologues who will kiss the ring. Fox and Friends was essentially an advisor to 45. Now Catturd, End Wokeness, and Libs of Tictok are advisors to co-president-un-elect musk. These people don't care what actually happens. They just want to get richer and carry out ideologies spouted off by the worst among us.

The best possible outcome is in a very tight window between "Goes badly but MAGA thrives" and "100% dictatorship." That spot is "goes so badly, people abandon MAGA but still have the right to vote." A lot of terrible people are going to ruin a lot of lives; and enjoy doing it.

I can't honestly say I have a lot of hope, but I won't ever lose hope altogether because I believe in doing what makes sense no matter how things turn out.  Giving up is not a solution.
I think what you said here: "goes so badly, people abandon MAGA but still have the right to vote,"  is pretty much right on.  The alternative as you stated, "100% dictatorship" would obviously be disastrous.  Sadly, it is possible.  History shows that to be a very true possibility.

Careful, somebody might accuse you of being dramatic.
(On the other hand, how is it not OK to having strong reactions to being fucked by half the voters who don't seem to have a clue as to how messed up it was to have elected the POS and his keeper?)
