This is dumb reductio ad absurdum logic. Why would anyone do that when they could just take basic health precautions and live their lives? Especially since we are talking about precautions that people were taking at the outset of a pandemic involving a novel virus at a time when there was no vaccine yet and no therapeutics.

There are a lot of people out there who are alive today because of precautions taken by other people that indirectly protected them, and the former group will never be able to recognize it because they have subjugated their common sense and basic scientific understanding to their  cultural or political allegiances.

Why should I wear a seatbelt?  I'm not going to crash my car.

Got my pneumonia shot two days ago. That sucker burned going in and my arm still feels like someone punched it. I feel really tired too. My doctor wants me to get the shingles series of shots too, but I am going to wait a few weeks to get that. Getting older sucks.

my wife asked me yesterday when I want my flu covid shots booked. I'm like "I don't think so". she was bewildered. I don't know. I feel like covid has gotten to a place where it's not that bad.

curious, whats led to this "feel"? I choose to vax so I dont look into much as far as current dominant strain, rates of infection, severity of illness etc.. wondered to what degree if any you've researched to come to your conclusion. your life/decision regardless. just wondered is all.

just that last time I was about to vax I had to cancel as I actually came down with it. Solid line after about 3 seconds. Scared the shit out of me of what the next few days would be. Turned out to be a mild cold. I've had it twice and I've had much worse colds, and I haven't had the flu in like two decades or more, vaxxed or not. I got the flu vax when my kids were young as my oldest is immune compromised.

she still in the house? if so, that would be one reason FOR vaxxing. vax is intended to reduce viral load, therefore reducing transmission possibility.

I’m more concerned about the flu. That really sucks. Way worse than Covid current strains.

There have been twice as many COVID deaths in the U.S. over the last 12 months than there have been flu deaths.

yeah, she's pretty "low level" compromised, I'm sure I'll get it. I know my (adult) daughter doesn't care, but my wife will likely convince me. Only reason I didn't get it last year was cuz I got covid a few days prior to my jab.

I’m not arguing that. I have had Covid twice and know how my body deals with that vs the flu. For me the flu is tougher.

Your statement seemed general, not specific, but it's true that individuals will definitely have different tolerances to different viruses.
