trudeau's every move isn't my entire life, so yes, I mis-recalled it. brick, gravel, who gives a shit. it was 3 years ago. the point still stands. your hypocrisy is showing again because you're so blinded by your partisanship. I'm sure your entire view of the incident would have been completely different had the rock(s) been a bit bigger. haha

What partisanship in this thread? I’m literally saying both sides need to be held to account.

I tried to look back and as best I could see you misremembered my stance and I didn’t justify the gravel tossing. But that’s my fault somehow that your memory sucks and you talk down to people because you’ve got your shit wrong. So you slandered (or libeled, whatever) by grossly misrepresenting me and my views, and you seem to be justifying that, nice.

I was trying to change the tone of my posting here but people like you and Halifax won’t let me try to change so I’m done with AMT because of the childishness. It’s not a winner-takes-all thinking that will actually get us through and you prove there’s assholes on both sides who need to be ignored.

  • Question about the walkies and beepers that blew up.  I read that they were sold to them 6 months ago.  So in 6 months none of those were carried across a border where bomb sniffing dogs or machinery used for that sort of detection found any of these devices for 6 months?

    Anyone find that odd?
  • Brandon should announce on November 6th in a press conference that the administration is suspending all aid to Israel and redirecting it to Ukraine, and that this will be a policy of the US until there is a serious commitment to peace by both parties in both regions or the new administration takes office. Then follow up with it.

Big plot twist.  If Israel has the right to exist then Palestine would be it's own country/state and people could have passports and leave if they wanted.

All things considered, I'm surprised to see this topic getting little traction today.  I guess we're not comfortable talking about it.  I'll admit I'm not.  Things are really getting out of hand, and things this big just don't remain regional.  I hope things settle down over there, rather that go the other way.

I have no idea what to say and can't fully understand what I think/feel about the situation. I mean its wild that so many from a terrorist organization just living normal lives in Lebanon....and it's wild to think that a nation (Iran) would fire missiles in response to attacks on terrorists....

This really is nothing new.  Haven't Iran been flying missiles for years?  Isn't that why we gave Israel the Patriots and Iron Dome anti missile defenses?

I think you are not acknowledging the Hamas invasion of Israel occurred because of Iran. And now the genocide claimers are taking a break before resuming their support for Iran. As was pointed out last October, the Hamas invasion killing Israeli women and children - during a cease fire and relative peace - was about Iran wanting a regional conflict to interrupt the Saudi/ Israeli peace discussions. And yesterday the proof was delivered.

So after a year of whataboutisms and obfuscation (and for some reason Israel interrupted their genocide campaign to attack a country with 45% non Muslims and very few Palestinians). This has been about Israel defending its right to exist. If it were any other American ally, that right would be unquestioned by Americans.

the million dollar question is why is Iran allowed to maintain a sixty thousand troop force in southern Lebanon?

What evidence do you have of an Israeli/Saudi peace agreement discussion? Link please. The $4 billion dollar question is whether Israel would treat the Palestinians and its neighbours the way it does in the absence of US tax dollars. But sure, assign blame to only one side and act as if Israel bears no responsibility for anything in that region for pick your amount of time.

    Iran funding of Hamas-

WASHINGTON — Today, U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) imposed its third round of sanctions targeting Hamas-affiliated individuals and entities since the October 7 Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel. This action designates key Hamas officials and the mechanisms by which Iran provides support to Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). Today’s designations are coordinated with action by the U.K. and are aimed at protecting the international financial system from abuse by Hamas and their enablers. The U.S. Department of State is concurrently designating a leader of PIJ’s military wing.

“The United States will continue to work with our partners, including the U.K., to deny Hamas the ability to raise and use funds to carry out its atrocities,” said Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen. “Hamas’s actions have caused immense suffering and shown that terrorism does not occur in isolation. Together with our partners we are decisively moving to degrade Hamas’s financial infrastructure, cut them off from outside funding, and block the new funding channels they seek to finance their heinous acts.”

This action builds on OFAC’s recent October 27 and October 18 designations of Hamas operatives and financial facilitators, as well as its May 2022 designation of officials and companies involved in managing Hamas’s secret international investment portfolio. These persons are being designated pursuant to Executive Order (E.O.) 13224, as amended, which targets terrorist groups and their supporters.

IRANIAN SUPPORT TO PALESTINIAN ISLAMIC JIHAD

Iranian support, primarily through its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has enabled Hamas’s and PIJ’s terrorist activities, to include the transfer of hundreds of millions of dollars in financial assistance and the furnishing of both weapons and operational training.

WASHINGTON, Dec 7 (Reuters) - There is still willingness among the key players of the U.S.-led talks to normalize ties between Saudi Arabia and Israel to restart the process even after the devastating Oct. 7 attack by Hamas, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State nominee Kurt Campbell said on Thursday.

"I think we can be carefully encouraged by some of the discussions that we've had to date that indicate that there still is a willingness among the key players to restart this process and continue it," Campbell told senators during his confirmation hearing at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

"I think it is understandable that at this moment, some of those discussions are quiet and they are difficult," Campbell said, adding that Washington's ultimate goal would be to "entrench Israel diplomatically" in the region.

Saudi Arabia put U.S.-backed plans to normalize ties with Israel on ice, sources familiar with Riyadh's thinking told Reuters nearly two months ago, as the war between Palestinian militants Hamas and Israeli forces escalated.

I mean it’s hewild that so many from a terrorist organization just living normal lives in Lebanon....and it's wild to think that a nation (Iran) would fire missiles in response to attacks on terrorists....

Your first sentence has no bearing in reality.

    Your comment is an embarrassment.

You didn’t answer the question. Nice deflection and apologist. For a backer of an apartheid state that loves to throw their “history” of 2000 years around, you seem to ignore the most recent history, unless it begins on 10/07/2023.

So, again, link to this Saudi/israeli peace deal Hamas was told by Iran to torpedo. Interesting you didn’t link to your sources for context. Typical.

A key demand by Saudi is that Israel recognize Palestine and create a two state solution with 1967 borders, of which we know from decades of Israeli occupation and history, that Israel and Bibi in particular, will never allow to happen. Funny you put your faith in Saudi Arabia, 9/11 and all. Good luck with that.

Meanwhile, since December, Israel has invaded Lebanon. With US taxpayers’ money.

I'm no expert on the middle east, but Israel seems out of control and drunk on military power. I don't know what can be done, but this is getting worse daily.
    It's a hopeless situation...
