I just arrived at a huge gala. I showed them some posting history of this guy and the entire place picked me up and paraded me around the gala. We all laughed

This one got me laughing.

I'm pretty excited for Maga Cay to be added as a private stop on my next Middle East cruise.
Could be a fun spot but the casino's probably going to be bankrupt unless you get there almost immediately.

COOTWH speaking with the king of Jordan in the oval and it appears to me that the king has a tic or involuntary mannerism whereby he blinks several times and scrunches his face when he speaks. I’m sure this drove COOTWH nuts.

More of this “you hate jews” bullshit. It’s almost like you have to believe that in order to hold the views you do, or your entire premise falls apart.

If you’re gonna quote me, have the courage to actually quote me. Your hatred and insistence on continued war is obvious in the tone of your bullying comments.

I simply said give Palestine a similar deal that Japan and Germany received, and I get cursed out by the extremists here. And I said wonder why, and you filled in the blanks,  not me, I am only asking. If that’s normal behavior where you live, good for you. Good for you for defending the other commenters here. They need it.

    .
What a joke. Are you suggesting Gaza be nuked? Like Japan was? Twice? When did Gaza attack almost the rest of the world? Yet Israel attacked the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria and Iran and yet you told us only Gaza was responsible and deserved everything it got.

Meanwhile, Israel is apparently afraid of books in Jerusalem now. Some shining democracy in the ME.

I assumed the haters here read, but that’s a huge assumption. Lots of typing, little reading. I’ll say it yet again. Germany and Japan lost wars, and wars have consequences.

Both countries accepted government with oversight and eventually became autonomous, and prospered, significantly.

Let Gaza and WB have a negotiated govt, they can’t get 100% of WB but should get a significant portion, and have initial oversight from Jordan and Egypt and other nations in the region.  There needs to be the equivalent of a DMZ given their history of invading. Once they prove they are willing to coexist peacefully and have the determination to keep out Iran, the oversight is removed. That’s a million times better than what Trump is offering now.

Yes the US should not occupy Gaza nor send any troops there, but the Palestinians are clearly not capable of running a peaceful country without oversight. They need the equivalent of a Board of Directors. Replace the US in 47s idea with the UN, Egypt and Jordan overseeing the Palestinian govt and reconstruction. The goal is to provide peacekeeping security, rebuild,  and also include a small resort district on a west facing shoreline to provide revenue. This is a potential path to stability and peace.

Two state solution is fine, but Palestine needs to negotiate disputed lands, sign a treaty and accept temporary oversight until the prove they are interested in peace and not take rebuilding money to line the pockets of Hamas.

And it’s wrong of 47 to expect them to leave while they rebuild, although he thinks he is doing that as a favor to them since their country is rubble. They need to prove their peaceful intentions before oversight is discontinued. How did Japan respond to losing WWII? Did they lose their identity? Did they continue disputing Hawaii or did they accept temporary oversight, retain their culture and prosper?

As far as China comparisons, more dem nonsense that cost them the election…did Taiwan lose a war? Gaza did, and losing should have some consequence.

And still no acknowledgment of Israeli war crimes and apartheid state actions. Just all innocence and victim hood. Have you ever wondered why Israel can’t make true and lasting peace with their neighbours or the other Arab states? Where is their effort with say Saudi Arabia? I mean Germany and Japan are both allies and friends with the nations that they went to war with. Why can’t Israel take the higher ground? I mean their economy is bigger than everyone else’s in the region, mostly due to the $4B in US subsidies per year and they’re a nuclear power. Maybe it’s just river to the sea?

Can you at least admit that Israel does not treat nor believe Palestinians are equals? Or are you like Bibi, they’re all terrorists? And please do tell us your opinion on the Palestinian right to return to both the West Bank and Gaza.

You hate as much as anyone else on here. Congratulations.

and it wasnt the Palestinians who launched that war either , so why should these peopke by subject to the continued occupation?

funny thing about germany and japan. both still have us military presence all these years later.

hell germany was split up amongst the powers at the time. for 50 years after the end of the war.

Did they continue disputing Hawaii or did they accept temporary oversight, retain their culture and prosper?

agreed....but it was Hamas that is the problem, not Palestine or "Gaza"

Hamas was not around for the 1967 invasion, when the current borders were established. The WB was used as a launching point for the 1967 invasion. That’s why some sort of a DMZ is needed. To be negotiated.

Hamas is a problem, as is Iran. A solution needs to solve both. That’s why oversight is needed. Without it, reconstruction billions will again line the pockets of Hamas. Jordan and Egypt have a vested interest in peace and should be used as examples to get them there with Palestine, if they are seriously interested in ending the bloodshed.
Does Israel have “a vested interest in peace?” Doesn’t seem like it with their decades of treatment of Palestinians in the occupied territories.

Some shining democracy in the ME.

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/feb/10/israeli-police-raid-jerusalem-bookshops-and-arrest-palestinian-owners

Congratulations.

still ignores the question of does he believe all gazans(or broadly all Palestinians)  are equated with hamas. particularly all who were too young to vote in 2006 andthose born since that had zero say in their ascension to the legislature

Form a coalition to help the Palestinians manage their territory. Keep Hamas out, provide at least a basic military/security force to keep peace.

I think trump is a complete piece of shit and his "plan" rollout is probably one of the worst things in history but I get the idea that we are sick of spending money over there to blow shit up and if Jordan/Egypt won't step up then maybe the threat of us doing it will.

Maybe the US shouldn’t subsidize Israel to the tune of $4B per year, talk about being sick of spending money over there. Time for Israel to stand on its own two feet. Just a thought.

And get the fuck out with that bit of revisionist history of the 6 day war. Why no mention of the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty and the deaths of 34 US service members? Do you believe the US attacked Israel in 1967 and deserved everything they got? What claim does Israel have in the Suez Canal? They didn’t pay for it or give up territory for it.

A nuclear armed belligerent always gets the pass.

Does this board condone or condemn what happened at this meeting?

I’m not aware of any Palestinian schools being shot at here in Canada, but several Jewish schools have been shot at and otherwise vandalized.

For whatever it’s worth I’ll stand with anyone else disgusted by what transpired at the school board meeting.

It’s really odd how people keep asking obviously absurd questions.

Obviously all violence should be condemned.

Are you hoping for a “yes, the jews deserve it!”?

And I don’t know of any Palestinian schools. At least not here.

Speaking specifically about this meeting, there is zero details or context given in this article. It’s just a bunch of general claims of antisemitism. And I just have to say, there seems to be a very distinct pattern of “ if you criticize the israeli government, you are pro-war, anti-semite, etc”. I can’t comment in what transpired if there’s no details of what transpired.

Does this board condone or condemn what happened at this meeting?

can you point to specific posts or a vibe you get here that says we wouldnt condemn any violence or intimidation? be it antisemetic(not only reserved for jewish folks you know) or in general?

you know being critical of the jewish state doesn't fall in that category, right?

I’ve been told I’m being one-sided when I’ve made statements addressing both sides and numerous criticisms of Hamas have been ignored or downplayed (to say nothing of the justifications put forward justifying the slaughter on October 7th.

I choose to accept the statements made by the elected officials in regards to the tenor of the meeting.

Quick edit to correct a word.

I tried finding the minutes of the meeting so you could read the specifics but they only seem to publish the agenda. So we have to rely on the reporting and statements from the trustees and other elected officials.

Waitasec, how is this quote from the column not a specific to be discussed?

”Holocaust exceptionalism is what this report seems to recommend,” was one of them smears lobbed out. Another was a claim that the report is “criminalizing opposition to Zionism” and “prioritizing the comfort of Jewish people over the actual safety of Palestinians.”

Again, several Jewish schools have been shot at and vandalized. That’s not a matter of comfort.
