The Official 2025 Tour Rumor Thread

The Sphere isn’t a gimmick. It’s a purpose built venue meaning from a production standpoint the band can immensely reduce their overhead by avoiding the need for a PA system, lighting rig, and a stage. Coupled with cutting edge technology and a sound system capable of satisfying their needs it becomes an attractive business case where logistically it’s feasible to leave the equipment parked for a month and return as required and everyone involved be it band crew and audience can easily travel and be accommodated.schaefferlax said:

I do not think it is a gimmick, it is simply a new form of entertainment in typical Vegas style. Over the top. If people like it good for them. Not for me though.0 -
Gimmick! Have you been?
If you go I think you’ll enjoy it…0 -
Still a residency in Vegas. I don’t care how cutting edge it is. It forces your fanbase to travel to imo, an awful destination so they don’t have to. Great for them from a business standpoint. My other favorite band played 40 shows there. My feeling was the same however it made perfect sense for u2 to play there. They’ve always pushed the limits of a live show from a technology standpoint. Not the same for PJ. Just my opinion obviously.100 Pacer said:

CLEVELAND! it's been over 14yrs0

Everyone I've spoken to who has seen a Sphere show has said overwhelmingly positive things about it. I'm interested in catching a show there and Pearl Jam would be a great reason. I'd be interested to see what they do with it.0

I was mixed on the visuals. I loved seeing them playing DTE over the video, but the Dark Matter visuals were a mixed bag for me. Setting Sun was very cool, Wreckage visuals were kinda dull (and before anyone says anything, I love the song).CantKeepmedown said:Wouldn't they have to really up their visual/production/whatever you call it for the Sphere? What they did this past tour with the screens did absolutely nothing for me (I actually enjoyed it more when it was just showing the band but I'm sure others disagree). But the Sphere seems tailor made for bands like Phish, D&C, U2, etc. Not a band like PJ.
Has a band ever played the Sphere without using the visuals? Or not solely focusing on the visuals? Just seems like a mismatch to me. I know people would go nuts here and that makes me happy. It would be an easy pass for me but would be happy to check it out on youtube lol"I'm a lucky man, to count on both hands the [shows I've done]. Some folks just have one, others they got none..."

I think it was back in 2018 that Mike was interviewed about touring, and mentioned how much he'd love to do a residency. I know he doesn't speak for the whole band, but I could see them enjoying it - it's touring without the tour.nicknyr15 said:

Aside from Facemeltor's one comment months ago, every other comment or wish is just piggybacking off him. Nobody else has chimed in with a Sphere rumor on their own. So pages of Sphere talk is not very credible IMO.0

I feel like them bringing Rob Sheridan on to work on this tour is the test for Sphere. He brings that aesthetic that would pop there. But hey, you're right how credible is any of this until its announced?DEGBTI said:Aside from Facemeltor's one comment months ago, every other comment or wish is just piggybacking off him. Facemeltor has been pretty reliable and The Sphere is the new “it” place so it’s totally reasonable for them to want to give it a try. Of course none of this is worth betting the montage payment on but that’s why it’s a rumor thread.1996: Randall's Island 2 1998: East Rutherford | MSG 1 & 2 2000: Cincinnati | Columbus | Jones Beach 1, 2, & 3 | Boston 1 | Camden 1 & 2 2003: Philadelphia | Uniondale | MSG 1 & 2 | Holmdel 2005: Atlantic City 1 2006: Camden 1 | East Rutherford 1 & 2 2008: Camden 1 & 2 | MSG 1 & 2 (#25) | Newark (EV) 2009: Philadelphia 1, 2 & 4 2010: Newark | MSG 1 & 2 2011: Toronto 1 2013: Wrigley Field | Brooklyn 2 | Philadelphia 1 & 2 | Baltimore 2015: Central Park 2016: Philadelphia 1 & 2 | MSG 1 & 2 | Fenway Park 2 | MSG (TOTD) 2017: Brooklyn (RnR HOF) 2020: MSG | Asbury Park 2021: Asbury Park 2022: MSG | Camden | Nashville 2024: MSG 1 & 2 (#50) | Philadelphia 1 & 2 | Baltimore 2025: Raleigh 20

Id love to see them at the Sphere, but a 14 hr flight is a bit of a pain in the ass......

Calgary seems like a perfect destination for PJ35 / Pearl Jam Week shows. It's a great location, and the nearby Banff National Park is a very attractive destination.demetrios said:setlist41 said:I think in 2025, they'll do Mexico, some Canada shows, I guess Europe and maybe I think they'll do a few southeast shows in US, like Atlanta, Florida maybe new Orleans.

Whatever happened to the Climate Pledge Arena residency talk? I seem to remember a discussion about them doing like a monthly gig there like Billy Joel did at MSG. Was I hallucinating or was that once a discussion/idea for them?Austin, TX - 9/16/95 ~ Charleston, SC - 10/5/96 ~ Dallas, TX - 7/5/98 ~ San Antonio, TX - 4/5/03 ~ Denver, CO - 7/2/06 ~ EV - LA #2 - 4/13/08 ~ Austin, TX - 10/4/09 ~ Los Angeles, CA #1 - 11/23/13 ~ Los Angeles, CA #2 - 11/24/13 ~ Seattle, WA - 12/6/13 ~ NYC #1 - 5/1/16 ~ Boston, MA #1 - 8/5/16 ~ Boston, MA #2 - 8/7/16 ~ Boston, MA #1 - 9/2/18 ~ Boston, MA #2 - 9/4/18 ~ Louisville, KY - 9/17/22 ~ Ft. Come to Atlantic Canada. Well, hopefully Pearl Jam makes the trip again to Atlantic Canada.
