I don't love it, but I really don't think we will see much/any US tour dates outside of the Sphere in 25. As some have mentioned, the Sphere may require a minimum set of dates. And as others have suggested, approx 12 shows in Vegas is a lot of shows in one city.

So, I think they will "suffocate" us diehard into going to Vegas to seeing them. They'll get the pay day and we'll get our shows.

If they are doing Vegas only, I may do multiple weekends out there. If they did Vegas, Chicago, NYC next year, I couldn't miss Chicago in my back yard. And I have to get to NYC/Philly for a show or two. So at most, I'd do  just 1 weekend at the Sphere.

If they did album shows at the Sphere, I would prioritize seeing No Code, Lost Dogs, Vs, and Yield.

Then outside of the Sphere, how about PJ35 / Pearl Jam Week at The Gorge, Philly, and Red Rocks.  Also Hyde Park.

Or maybe the Sphere shows are also PJ35.  Would love it either way.  I just know we will be celebrating our favorite band's 35th birthday next year, and I can't wait!

Every band is being talked about for the Sphere. It is not a real rumor IMHO unless someone has any real info. They are on tour right now. They will most likely take a long break after this. We might hear something in February-March if they are playing live in 2025. Perhaps later in the year if they are playing a US festival. Social media posts mean very little. And Red Rocks is overrated as a venue. There is a ton of wishing in this thread without really understanding how this band plays live these days.

FaceMeltor (who was 100% correct in his rumours from last year) graced us with a rumour saying the Sphere was in the works for 2025.

Although that was a few months ago, and anything could have changed since then. Couple that with Eddie mentioning the Sphere at the Vegas shows, as well as a few other shows, and actually attending multiple U2 shows when they were playing, and I think the bands interest (or at least Ed's) has been peaked. They probably have been asked to do it given their history and fan base.

Remember, the Sphere NEEDS multiple shows for it to be profitable for any band. I can see PJ playing TEN shows, given that number is synonymous with the band.

Wishing is one thing, but theres a reason the Sphere keeps getting brought up here.

They are probably entertaining offers for all of 2025. Sphere, festivals etc. That makes sense. There are also big dollars to be made at the Sphere so it seems like a possibility (wait until we see the prices). Jeff might love the new art form at the Sphere and they now have the visual production so it might fit. I have also realized with this band nothing is real until it is.

As they should take a break.  But I also think they would like to celebrate their 35th birthday with a handful of PJ35 shows.  Given the remarkable masterpiece of an album that they just released in Dark Matter, and the fact that the band is sounding better than ever at this point.  Why wouldn't they at least try to do a handful of celebratory PJ35 shows while they are on top of their game.  Of course, yes, after they take a little break.

I never thought that I would encounter anyone that thinks Red Rocks is overrated as a venue.  I just can't understand the thought.  Who did you see there?  What was the weather like?  Were there screaming babies near you?  Lol.  The show's I've seen there have been spectacular.

It is a beautiful place. No Screaming babies LOL. And yes it rained one time and got cold which was fine. I have seen a few shows there, MMJ, Wilco etc. There is a local contingent there that took some of my enjoyment out of it. They act like they own the place. And it is a concert that comes with a hike. I guess too much hype.

We shall see. I will not go there but good for those that want it to happen.
  • If they do it and it’s 12 shows. That’s 12 albums. They shouldn’t let us know what show is which album. Would Lightning Bolt or Gigaton shows even sell out?

With U2, I wasn't all that interested until reviews and footage started coming out from the first batch of dates, I quickly got fomo and went to a show in late January.   You kind of need to do a few batches, so if it goes well, you do more dates on the positivity from the earlier dates.

Still not sure PJ has the drive to fully utilize the venue.  This was the first year they really did videos and stuff, but it was pretty basic compared to what's being done at the sphere.

Would I go?  Maybe?  The other thing that got me to go to U2 was they it was centered around Achtung Baby, and I never got to see the Achtung Baby tour, and it's a top 5 favourite album of mine.    The only PJ tours I haven't seen are Vs. through No Code, but I've seen most of the songs on those albums live.  U2 doesn't mix up the sets that much, and plays mostly hits, so to hear the deep cuts, rare opportunity.

Maybe PJ doesn't need to fully utilize the screen.   The sphere also has the best audio I've ever heard at a concert. The place was built for the audio and the video. Both are the best.  PJ would sound absolutely amazing in there.

Been a fan since Ten and I've seen PJ exactly once. Prague 2018 and it was magical. I've had Vienna and Berlin cancelled after that, but if the band visits Prague next summer I'll certainly go there. Prague is one of my absolute favourite cities, and there's something about that place and the memories from 2018 that makes it an easy decision.

My expectations are that the shows would be pretty similar night to night and would take any variation as a bonus. If you're playing Sphere I think a great deal of energy goes toward the visual element. This idea that they would do a dozen unique shows seems like setting yourself up for disappointment.

Wouldn't they have to really up their visual/production/whatever you call it for the Sphere? What they did this past tour with the screens did absolutely nothing for me (I actually enjoyed it more when it was just showing the band but I'm sure others disagree). But the Sphere seems tailor made for bands like Phish, D&C, U2, etc.  Not a band like PJ.

Has a band ever played the Sphere without using the visuals? Or not solely focusing on the visuals? Just seems like a mismatch to me. I know people would go nuts here and that makes me happy. It would be an easy pass for me but would be happy to check it out on youtube lol

The Eagles are doing a long stretch there. I don't know that I'd call them a profoundly visual band. Seems more targeted towards a particular demographic that tends to go to Vegas.

I would not blame them for doing the Sphere, it is smart business. Vegas residencies have brought big money to many artists. It would bring significant revenue to their organization. Wait until you see the ticket prices, it will not be cheap. I do not want to see Pearl Jam in a place where they are speck against a giant screen. But I can also see how they might embrace the new format for concerts. I am also not a fan of Vegas. I would rather see them in Hartford, Camden, or Albany.
