    But it looked like a Gern was trying to make JD look bad for the comment about his wife, and there’s nothing wrong with what he said.
    Yeah....and they're almost assuredly voting for him, hence his "but." I wonder how many other husbands married to a non white spouse have had to say "she's not white, but...." 

    Seems odd....as if he's trying to appeal to the very deplorable people attacking him.
