    Yep.  This online community can be pretty mean.  Wierd because 100% of 10c members I've met over the years at shows are very friendly.  Must be "keyboard warrior mentality"?

    Alright touchy, just an opinion. What Im trying to say is - Waiting for Stevie, could have been like a working title but, in how i see it, it's Ed's experience of writing a song with Watt so - I guess i wouldn't have blinked if the song title was on an Eddie solo album but being it's on a PJ album, yeah...i just find it a bit wired.  Maybe feels a bit like less a collaborative approach to a song in my mind?

    I do LOVE the song. I LOVE the album. I LOVE this band, prob as much as anyone else here.

    No, it actually fits. The protagonist of the song is "waiting" for that special piece of music that she connects with, that connects her to the outside world.

    Just like Ed was *literally* waiting for Stevie that day, the girl in the song is figuratively "waiting on a messenger" to deliver her past the limits of her own small-town existence. Who knows? That "messenger" might also be Stevie Wonder for this kid. Or it might be someone else.

    The title is something of a double entendre. It's not just a throwaway.

    They came up with it while they were waiting...

    Black Dog by Led Zep doesn't mention a black dog you know...
    There is no mention of hills or going far away in Over the Hills and Far Away either.
    nor in Achilles Last Stand...how annoying
    Now why would you expect them to mention hills or going far away in "Achilles Last Stand"? :)

    Besides, the bigger issue with that song title is the missing apostrophe.
