    Why does everything have to be judged by live performances? Why can't you just enjoy it for what it is, which is one of their best songs from this part of their career. And yeah, I'm going to give Upper Hand and WFS a chance. Upper Hand sounds cool.
    because pj is known for their live shows.  If it doesn't translate live, then it doesn't get played and gets retired.  (hello getaway)
    Given how few cities they play anymore there are certainly lots of people for whom the album version is all they’ll ever hear though. Not every fan goes to shows.
    Even for those of us who go to a lot of shows, it's an every-couple-of-years or every-few-years thing. In the in-between time, the vast majority of the Pearl Jam I'm listening to is the studio recordings.

    Buckle up is one of my least favorite pj songs.  Which is ok.  None of us need to like all of their work.  Wreckage is not anywhere near the bottom of my list. I think this song is great just like most of this album.  Can't wait to get my hands on this friday.
