The more I listen the more React, Respond rises to the top. Probably the song I can see translating best live. That ending is complete fire. McCready is a beast. That song will bring the place down. As far as overall song that I think is their best on the whole album, that's either Waiting For Stevie or Upper Hand. Just really good songs.

    Man, Ed just sounds fantastic

    Upper Hand
After listening about 15 times, I'm really drawn to Upper Hand as my favorite.  Waiting for Stevie and Won't Tell are really close though.  I really like most of them, and am having a hard time deciding between a few of them.  Right now though, Wreckage sounds to me like one they save to play to the back of the stage. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I'm really glad that I'm going to at least 7 shows this tour.  The more I listen, the more excited I get to see these live. 2 More Weeks!!!!!

SN: AFTER listening to this album, I went back and gave the newest Stones album Hackney Diamonds a listenAndrew Watt also had his hand in, and I am blown away. Say what you want about Andrew, but got damn he does a great job of capturing the magic of these timeless bands.
Hackney and DM are both fantastic records!

Please stop with this shitting on Riot Act. You Are trolling.
Seems more like a big praise to Dark Matter, rather than "shitting" on any other album.

Nobody is behind the stage on this tour, or maybe that's your message lol.

Those first few lyrics to Waiting for Stevie are so powerful to me. Just hits home so hard in the context of life at this point. Beautiful, sad and profound all in one.

Edit: Lyrics and music from them hasn't hit this hard since I Got ID, which is probably one of my all time favorites.

I don't put much stock in first listens, but React, Respond, Upper Hand, Waiting For Stevie, and Setting Sun stood out the most to me. Really hope Setting Sun doesn't get the Parting Ways treatment from a setlist standpoint.

Poor song is stuck between the bottom two songs of the album. Most people just go home at that point.

I'm kind of kidding, but it is a weird placement in my opinion.

You never really had to begin with.

Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.

Yeah, but I also think it keeps the album from the slower end/spiral of doom of previous albums that seemed to fade. That said, I still like the songs around it, especially Setting Sun.

    React, Respond
After a couple spins, I have big praise for the guitar work on this album, and the tones are so perfect.

And, unexpectedly, I found myself liking the title track a lot more within the context of the album.  The Dark Matter track was always cool to me, but as it's placed on the album, it just hits harder for me.

I'm noticing that effect on most of the songs actually.  Wasn't crazy about Wreckage at first, but it fits so nicely in to the album as a whole.  This is a nicely put together set of tracks, and I think the way that they recorded this album is a big win in that everything feels right together.

Agree - I have been slow to like the 3 singles on their own but all have sounded a lot better in the context of the album.

    React, Respond
I dig the album. I like my favorites from Gigaton (the first four songs) better than any of these, but I like most of these more than the other songs on Gigaton.

Ed sounds great, but I think React, Respond and Running are going to be tough to sing live.

React, Respond hit me hard on first listen, and wow each time keeps getting better.  Stellar track.  I can see React, Respond fitting perfectly in on the Vitalogy album.  Love the soaring vocals combined with the palm muted guitar on the pre-chorus.  Plus the thumping drum groove.  This song rocks so so good.

This - it’s the melodic dare I say it “grunge” banger with the shred solo that we’ve been needing. Best PJ song for 15-20 years.

What is it, 5 songs pulling at least 10% of the vote? That’s not too shabby and not including Dark Matter.
