I could be wrong but I don't remember behind the stage during the 2013 tour.  And I had a great time
I was behind the stage for Hartford ‘13. Bought the ticket the day of the show. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
  • I LOVE behind the stage and hope they get added. That said, it doesn't affect the vibes, as anyone who was in Ft Worth last year knows. Yeah, there is a bar and some standing room (and they got some love from Ed on night 2) but there were no seats surrounding the stage and the shows were just as great.

With people accusing the band of a cash grab, why wouldn’t they have seats behind then?

This is why the tix are more.  That's a lotta seats they had to make up costs for.

I'm sure they will sell the behind the stage sections, they just haven't dropped yet.  The shows are sold out, they will get more people in the door / sell more tix by opening up the sections behind the stage like every other tour.
It would have been available when the tickets went on sale. As someone mentioned earlier maybe they have a different stage setup with a background?

I don’t think they always had seats behind the stage, did they? During either the ‘06 (maybe ‘08?) tour, didn’t they have a back drop behind the stage with the Klausen wave?
Yes, but it wasn't tall, so there were people behind the stage still both tours.

Got it. Didn’t remember that, just remember the backdrop.

  • There weren't behind the stage seats at the Bell Center in Montreal in 2011. I remember it, because I was on the last side section. It's kind of weird when you're at the very end, especially when you start singing along. You realize how horrible you sound.
  • I doubt the ticket sales strategy was to sell all the good seats and then drop behind the stage.  If anything I’d expect the opposite.  There must be some screens or something this time that you need a front view of.  If so that’s too bad because I like the normal PJ show style better.

the ticketmaster site is at least showing behind the stage sections for MSG now. Granted everything is grayed out minus some absurdly expensive PJ Premium floor seats. Fingers crossed they release behind the stage the tickets! (it's my only chance of getting into night 1!)

Some PJ shows have had seats behind the stage, other haven’t.  Usually depends on ticket sales.  May depend this time on stage set up, or a bit of a marketing ploy , “additional seats to our sold out shows have just opened up.  Get them now on Ticketmaster!”

I would be shocked if they didn't sell behind the stage tickets to arguably the most sought after venue location on their whole tour...

Not sure if this affects the possibility if behind the stage seats being sold, but the shows are listed as “sold out” on the Tour page of pearljam.com.

I'll be shocked if they do open up behind the stage. Just from the Dark Matter material released so far, it looks to me like they are going for visuals on a screen behind them, plus it would seem insane to me if they were holding back tickets in that way. Sorry to say, but I feel like those hoping for whole sections to open up are suffering from wishful thinking.

  • You can talk about Ticketmaster premium etc but not selling behind the stage tickets seems off to me. Why not tell the fans that is the plan? I think it will take away from the feel a little!

new conspiracy theory, they raised ticket prices because they aren't selling behind the stage seats on this tour due to whatever visuals they are planning on doing? That being said, I do hope they open behind the stage seats...
