Hey Chicago locals - we're staying at the Hyatt in Wicker park for Saturday's show. Is there an easy bus route to get there and back? Thanks!
I want to be clever, but I don't know how.

I dunno about buses but you can take the train — Blue line transfer at Monroe to the Red line. The Addison stop is like 1 block from the stadium.0

But after the show, bring your patience! The train stop outside the stadium is NUTS! Last year for Dead & Co we ended up walking back to our hotel (about a mile south down Clark) both nights and got there faster than we would have if we had waited to be able to get on the train.0

When we saw PJ at Wrigley in 2016, we walked to the stop prior to Addison (Belmont, I think?) and caught the EL before everyone got on the Addison stop at Wrigley. Walk took maybe 5-10 minutes, but totally worth it to avoid the craziness.JD87070 said:But after the show, bring your patience! The train stop outside the stadium is NUTS! Great strategy if you’re further away and have to take the EL! We were close enough where the walk wasn’t bad, plenty of other people were doing the same and the Subway about halfway back was open late, so we got a post-show sandwich both nights.wsimon74 said:

Agree red line Addison and for sure it is packed after the show. There used to be an express bus from a suburb but it doesn’t run currently because they ran out of drivers.PJ: 2013: London (ON); Buffalo; 2014: Cincinnati; 2016: Sunrise, Miami, Toronto 1-2, Wrigley 2; 2018: London (UK) 1, Milan, Padova, Sea 2, Wrigley 1-2, Fenway 1-2; 2021: SHN, Ohana, Ohana Encore 1-2; 2022: LA 1-2, Phx, Oak 1-2, Fresno, Copenhagen, Hyde Park 1-2; Quebec, Ottawa, Hamilton, Toronto; MSG, Camden, Nashville, Louisville, St. Louis, OKC; 2023: St. Paul 1-2, Chicago 1-2; Fort Worth 2; Austin 1-2; 2024: Vancouver 1-2, LV 1-2, LA 1-2, Napa, Barcelona 1-2; Indy; Chicago 1-2; MSG 1-2; Philly 2; Boston 2; Ohana 1-2; 2025: FL 1-2, ATL 1-2, Nash 1-2, Pit 1-2.

If you are heading there and wanting to catch the Red Line south, you will get stuck because of the crowds who already got on at Addison. If you mean the stop prior to Addison heading south, that's Sheridan. About a 10 min walk north of Wrigley but definitely is much quieter.Belmont works if you want to catch a Brown line train into the Loop. As does Southport (also Brown line).

I would be listening to the last song as I get on the train.JD87070 said:But after the show, bring your patience! The train stop outside the stadium is NUTS! I bet you could walk in the opposite direction to the next stop and get on there before it gets to the busy stations.0 -
This for sure especially if it’s your first time in chicago. We always get lost, everywhere we go. We’ve even forgotten what floor we were on in a garage after Cincinnati. Got lost at Voodoo fest as well…walked completely around City Park but at least there was a bunch of us who got lost that night. During our practice runs we ended up near the white Sox stadium and it was night. Just be careful if you take the LBentleyspop said:Practice Practice Practice0 -
And if you (anyone) gets lost don’t panic. Just try to act like you know where you are.0

I would not take the train. If you don't mind a little walk, your best best is to hop on the Ashland bus and get off at Addison. From there you will have about a 5-6 block walk to Wrigley. Otherwise, Uber/Lyft would work.Barrygoosey said:Hey Chicago locals - we're staying at the Hyatt in Wicker park for Saturday's show. Is there an easy bus route to get there and back? Thanks!
For your location, the train will be more hassle than it is worth. You aren't that close to a Blue Line Stop and you have to head downtown to transfer which is the opposite direction of Wrigley. Then you will have to hop on a crowded ass Red Line. Not worth it in my opinion.0 -
Agree here. Kinda silly to go all the way downtown on the blue line just to transfer to the red line. Ashland bus to Addison is a good option. Or just take an Uber/Lyft...shouldn't be too expensive on the way to the show at least.gocubsgo said:

We are staying at the Hilton/Magnificent Mile and taking the Red line from Clark/Division. Going back that night, how is the neighborhood that we will be walking through to get back to the hotel? It seems ok, but we usually stay by Grant Park, so I have not been up in that area at night.0

That's what we did 2016 and 2018. The wait by the stadium is insane.wsimon74 said:
