  • OP here. All great info! Unfortunately, we had to sell our tickets as I'm having open heart surgery. Hoping there's always next year.

Not to spread fear, but someone was just stabbed earlier today [in broad daylight!] at the Addison Red Line stop (the one right next to Wrigley Field).

99.9% of the time you're going to be safe - but always be alert + vigilant as crimes can happen any time of day - anywhere in the city.

I've spent so many years in question
To find I'd known this all along.

That can happen in a small town of 500 people too,

Indeed - but Chicago is a city not a small town.   Wrigley Field is in Chicago.

We are staying in a place over on W Irving Park Rd. It looks to be about a 15 min walk. Anyone aware if this would be a safe walk to and from? It's a 4 min drive, so we could, but I imagine we'd get back much quicker walking than attempting to drive back and get out of the ball park.

Yes most of the time you'll be safe - and that is a generally safe neighborhood.      But always practice situational awareness.

Yeah, I grew up in Lansing, and have been all over Detroit, Flint, and Chicago. I just have never been to or over by Wrigley. Agreed lol, that's why I thought a walk for the come down after the show would be good. Appreciate you!

Thanks for the geography lesson but I didn’t need it. There was one fucking incident. No need to warn people like they’re going to be walking through Englewood.
