They do not owe us anything. They have blessed us with some of the most soul touching music I've ever heard for decades. They have earned their money and because of that that gives them the right to do whatever they want at this stage in their lives, whether that be tour 10 shows or 100 or none. I chose to give up a career that involved being in concert production to be more present in my kids lives and that was my choice. I am mine. They are choosing to make new music and tour and I'm thankful I'm in a place to choose to travel to see them still. I wish I could see every show but that's not possible but I am so grateful for every one I do see because no bands music makes me this happy.
The most earnest take so far.

That being said, we should all get back to the rumoring n' such.

Gotta be thankful that they are still together and do still tour, but it's also ok to be frustrated at times and to want more. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

However they choose to operate as a band is their way and it works to keep them as a band that actually likes and respects each other.

Another thing is that it is not all Pearl Jam or bust with these guys. They are not just sitting around at home when not on tour. They are all active supporting charitable foundations. Ed has his solo music, organizing a festival and his EB charity foundation. Jeff has the MPS projects and makes music and art. Stone has a number of musical side projects and has resurrected Loosegroove. Mike and Matt both have side projects and play on other people's projects. Would I love to see them play more and release more music? Of course I would, but if this is how they feel it is necessary to operate to maintain the band, then I have to accept it. My favorite band is R.E.M., and it was a blow when they stopped making music together. I will continue to enjoy PJ making music for as long as they continue to.

I'm happy Pearl Jam is still together and I'm going to get a chance to see them again this year.

You sure they'll let you out of the old folks home?

I'm just joshing with you, bud, don't take it personal. I'm older than you and I assure you I have more age related health problems, but I am also happy they are still touring and I'm going to make every effort to see as many shows as I can.

I agree with you. I can imagine that very well. Partly because of my contributions. But also because of all the previous speculation about possible personal reasons. If I were in the band, I would also think, let it go. Concentrate on what's still to come.

I actually think they’re eternally grateful for the level of passion this fan base has for seeing them live after all these years. And while some people’s comments may come off as selfish “I want/expect more” the underlying reason behind those sentiments is the love we have for their music and that is certainly well understood.
I often imagine how desperate we all look to the band as we press ourselves together like sardines to get inches closer to the stage or scrambling like maniacs for pieces of plastic tossed into the crowd, but they understand this because it’s a connection to the music that they themselves share.
That being said there has to be a balance; they love passionate fans but don’t want us sleeping on their doorstep or stalking their existence, and balance is what they need to preserve and seem to have found in their new touring schedule. A level that feels sustainable is what will keep them going for years to come.
