Maybe album was wishful thinking vs waiting that long for US dates on my part. I also thought bottlerock was announcing early Jan and just figured it would come out same time

Albums are released on Fridays, not Tuesdays so it can't be that..
Plus the album is going to be released on April 5, which is not February 13.

Agreed unfortunately!  Just seems like a long time to wait to announce when it sounds like they already have the entire year of touring
booked.  So I don't understand the point in waiting til then.  It doesn't benefit the fans at all!

I would think those that are spending for the holidays and are tight for cash in January are better positioned to purchase a month later?

That makes some sense, but I have a hard time believing that that would be the bands reasoning behind it.  My guess is they just want to announce tour dates around the time of album announcement and first single release.  So a February announcement makes sense if the album is coming in April.

Given all the rumours we’ve had, I still think EU/UK, US/CA and AUS/NZ will all be announced at the same time.

That would make it too easy for all the travellers. EU/UK tour with a footnote to say US dates to be announced late winter/early spring.

An annoucement on 2/13 for europe is impossible for a number of reasons.

European tours are always announced in december because of festivals (and we have at least 4 festivals dates rumours) because festivals have to sell tickets before xmas.

Also @JackD.made a great resume of the last european annoucemnts a few pares back but ill post here again.

    2020:
    Announcement Monday, 2 December
    Public Sale Saturday, 7 December

    2018:
    Announcement Friday, 1 December
    Public Sale Friday, 8 December

    2014:
    Announcement Friday, 13 December
    Public Sale Friday, 20 December

Europe 2012 was also announced in December 2011.

It is the Ticketstoday lottery now.

    They couldn’t even handle 9 shows in 5 cities…
