I know for me it depends on where it is. I am in the first generation of people with this congenital heart defect to make it passed 28. Some cities planned for us living long (NYC) and some went about it differently. I call NYC in August for an October appointment. Closer to me I call in June for a November appointment. It could be as simple as a staffing issue.
And now I send you heart-healing energy.

Wishing you all best Mike it sounds like a nightmare situation and I agree on the healthcare issue the plague’s this country! I believe Universal healthcare is the way to go just ask all the other nations of Europe and most of South America
I have a question for you.
From where you stand, and the position you hold at work, you are obviously much more knowledgeable.

Why on Earth would I have to wait months to see specialists, that in my condition, and my open heart surgery,  it seems to me that I should see these guys within days? A week at the most. 2 weeks seems like a stretch, but ok 2 weeks.

    I WAIT MONTHS FOR SOME?

    It baffles me.

What are the causes of this?

Because Chicago and its heartclogging sausage eating ways keep them busy?

So, go ahead and ask me how Im doing.
    I dare you. hahahaha
Get ready for a classic rant!!!!!

Well, I still havent collected $1 of disability, THAT I PAY FOR EVERY WEEK!!
My hand is still 80% paralyzed. But I can now tie my shoes.
Im getting ready to fucking "Lawyer Up" and sue the surgeon for negligence.
Im also going to have to get a lawyer to go after my disability.
I've been waiting for 8 fucking days for my neurologist to fill out a disability form, which should take him all of 5 minutes.
Im out of fucking pain pills, and for some reason my refill was denied. I have no idea wtf thats about.
But hey I can tie my shoes.

    Not a classic rant
But now you are caught up.
    hahahaha

Sometimes you have to become a pest hound your insurance company, the neurologist too my nurse wife said the pain meds issue always raises red flags it’s as if they just want to give you what they think is enough! After that they will question it as to why you might want more. Sorry to hear about all this crap your going through but we have a broken healthcare system.

The pain medication has been a joke since day one. If you don't want to give me addictive narcotics then don't!
But do me a favor, when you take away the oxycodone, which worked like a charm, then please give me something that works.

I have major nerve damage in my arm. At times the pain is excruciating.

When I lived in Evanston Illinois (1990), doctors in Chicago would not see me as they were not trained. I had to go to Wisconsin. Are you able to travel?

A friend of mine said that he had to go "Shirley-MacLaine-in-Terms-of-Endearment" yelling in the hospital to get his partner the pills he needed as they ran out and it was a long weekend. He got the pills, but what a trial. That is awful about your hand, and during the open heart surgery.

Not having received any disability is just flat out wrong.
Hopefully that can get ironed out including retroactive pay back to May.
What a ridiculous country where those who work all their lives and pay into the system get the runaround when they finally need assistance.

    Good morning Jose.

This morning I made an appointment for another EMG test.
You know, the test where they stick needles in my arm to stimulate my nerves.
The test takes about 45 minutes, with electrodes and needles stimulating my nerves.
I did it 5 months ago, and it is one of the most horrible things I have ever been put thru. It is GOD AWFUL!!

But other than that I am doing fine.

    UGH!

I am looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas. Everyone knows I am a Holiday kind of guy.

I had one of those tests a couple weeks ago. Probably got stabbed about 75 times with those needle probes.

I'm sorry you're going through all of this. Hope you get better soon!

After the 10th-15th needle, I was saying to myself, "Ok, this can't go on much longer."

I just can't believe I have to do it all over again tomorrow.
