Well, after 4 weeks since the surgery, Im finally going to start some kind of therapy on my left hand.
Because who knew, that open heart surgery, was going to leave my left hand 90% paralyzed?

But the doctors, the nurse practitioners, the surgeon and everyone else involved acts like its no big deal. I mean they act like ITS NO BIG DEAL.

They all say, oh that is somewhat common, and within 4-6 weeks you should be back to normal.

well, if it's not permanent, I could see why they think it's no big deal. My dad got the same "attitude" when he had Bells Palsy.

Can you imagine waking up from open heart surgery, only to realize that your left hand is 90% paralyzed?

    But in good news.
My sisters sent me a fruit basket Monday. I'm not going to question why it took 5 weeks to acknowledge the fact that their only living brother survived open heart surgery. I'm just going to enjoy the pineapple, strawberries, and melon.

Maybe they were growing the fruit themselves, so it was nice and fresh.

I hope you are feeling better, and the PT helps you regain more function in your hand. Enjoy the fruit.

Ironically, this is also the exact wording on the card with the fruit basket from the Speedy Sisters.

Hey just checking in how did this past week go for you? Hoping your feeling a bit better!
Started a new medication for my damaged nerve. But was told it will be a couple weeks before I start feeling some relief.
It's basically still the same, good days/ bad days/ horrible days, but hopefully within 5-7 days I'm doing better and headed in the right direction.

    I do know one thing.
16 months ago I had 2 stents put in. A major fucking procedure.

Having stents put in, is nothing more than a paper cut, compared to triple bypass.

Yeah bypass is a big procedure nothing to sneeze at all! Glad you made it through that, take it easy I know it’s frustrating to not feel good your mind wants too but your body is the key.

    Sneeze.
Funny you use that word, SNEEZE.

About 3 weeks ago was the 1st time I sneezed since I have had the surgery.
There is no doubt in my mind that the pain in my chest was equal if not more than being shot with a gun to the chest.

Holy fuck, I almost passed out.
