Nobody wants to be cops anymore. They did it to themselves at first but now it's all damage control and the pendulum has swung so far out that it's just not worth it to people anymore.nicknyr15 said:https://nypost.com/2023/07/15/nyc-blues-the-number-of-potential-nypd-cops-plummets/amp/Can’t say I’m surprised.0 -

I don't think anyone is defending that one considering an officer can be heard yelling "don't release the dog with his hands up".Halifax2TheMax said:I look forward to the posts defending and/or excusing the tactics of the police and their dog.0 -

Besides being biggoted cops, why on earth would they bring the dogs down? Mudflap would be DOT. Does DOT even have a K9 unit?mickeyrat said:

While trying to find that answer I came across this. Maybe K9's aren't the best to be using or the owners need wayyyy better training.

Thatsba big letters peeve of these headlines, they take one thing out of the more than one, and claim this is what it was all about.
He was pulled over for a mid flap. He pulled over, then took off evading police to the point they laid down tire spikes. So, no, this altercation was not just over mud flaps.
it’s trying to evade police on a chase in a semi tractor trailer0 -

It's unfortunate but if you do something that leads the police to bring the K-9 then it's mostly on you.Post edited by Gern Blansten onRemember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)

He did surrender himself so I don't see why the dog was let loose and an officer can be heard saying as much. I'm usually on the cops side but this one is a little dirty.Gern Blansten said:

that's why I said "mostly"....not sure what the explanation from the cop might be. I assumed it was just an accident that the dog was released.tempo_n_groove said:

I would assume a mud flap is similar to a broken tail light and is a fix it ticket. I never heard of DOT in any state being in charge of issuing fox it tickets. It’s always been local police or state troopers,.tempo_n_groove said:

And when you pull over, then take off and evade police, it becomes a much bigger issue than just a fox it ticket.
I agree with you it doesn’t seem like releasing the dog was necessary, and we even hear one of the cops saying don’t release the dog, then yelling to pull him off. But this was far from a mud flaps issue at this point. The clip even said they had to bring out tires spikes to get him to stop.0 -
yeah the guy didn't pull over for 30 minutes...that goes way beyond a mud flapRemember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)
