I don’t want to commit to being a big fan, but as a casual observer, I’ve always liked her. I have seen her during some congressional hearings here & there, and other interviews. Always thought she is very smart and relatable. She seems pretty down to earth, so I’m down!

For me, the larger concern is the ability of government to actually make progress. When the extremes of a party are the most vocal and opinionated, it's not a good starting point from the perspectives of negotiations or concessions. If there was a smattering of loud centrists within the parties, I think party dynamics could change for the better, and the likelihood of reaching productive solutions could increase.
PS - I know I'm misusing the term 'centrist' here', but I'm not articulate enough to find one singular word to define 'positioned on the political spectrum in the average spot for the party, as opposed to near the fringes'.'05 - TO, '06 - TO 1, '08 - NYC 1 & 2, '09 - TO, Chi 1 & 2, '10 - Buffalo, NYC 1 & 2, '11 - TO 1 & 2, Hamilton, '13 - Buffalo, Brooklyn 1 & 2, '15 - Global Citizen, '16 - TO 1 & 2, Chi 2

They know it's dead in the water but they trot it out each time they get in power. The closest we ever come to a balanced budget is when a Dem is in office. This is historical fact.
Imagine that this amendment actually passes...then imagine the next GOP president having to deal with a budget that cuts enough spending (would have to be defense spending) in order to balance the budget...UNLESS they raise taxes....that would be a glorious situation for the GOP.
The balanced budget sounds great but it won't work without tax increases on a yearly basis.Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)
