    Mastodon seems like an odd platform. Not interested.
    I've used mastodon in the past.  Much easier to tailor content and can be better from a privacy, not data mining point of view.  I gave it up along with all social media besides this damn site though.

    there was this "trend" of people with blue check marks were changing their twitter names to Elon Musk, so they could drive the point home that his $8 verification "idea" would be fraught with people posing as real people, and he then made a "policy" that "impersonation will result in permanent suspension". And hence, a few people got banned for not changing their names back.
