    Say it ain't so, Joe!
Again, past actions and behavior taken in context but sure, same-same. And don’t take my word for it, take General Milley’s.
I was merely comparing the hand gestures, which are clearly same-same. I’ll leave the hidden meaning behind them to the experts.
    Reactions from an amateur:
The second photo, until very recently, simply meant OK.  It's supposed to look like OK.  Almost anybody over, say, 55 years of age (maybe younger) will tell you that it used to be a common, positive gesture.  That some thugs turned it into a gesture of hatred is none of our doing.  I used to use that positive gesture often myself.  Now, because of those who would spread hatred of co-oped something positive and turned it to hate, I have had to retrain myself no to use it.
Yeah, sure, it's a small thing.  But there are a lot of small (and very big) things that are transforming this nation into ant- science, absence of critical thinking, anti-nature (therefore, anti-life), and pro hatred.
And you don't need to be an expert to see that.
I posted the pics to show you can find anyone using those gestures. I think it is silly to assume anything other than their normal use from COOTWH or even POOTWH. But again, I’m not an expert. I figured my caption would have signaled the lack of seriousness I intended.

    OK, thanks for clarifying.
Only what is a Cootwh?  Sounds like some kind of strange marsupial or something.
Wait, let me guess- white beaked coot?
American Coot Identification All About Birds Cornell Lab of Ornithology

I'm pretty sure the P in POOTWH is "previous", COOTWH would be "current" whatever the rest of the acronym is. We have seen a few coots on our weekly duck feedings with the kiddos, cool looking birds.

And the problem with the nonsense response as opposed to taking a wait and see attitude, is that they’ve committed to something they won’t reverse out of when whatever evidence comes out. This is from top republicans, right wing media, and on down. The evidence will be minimized or declared planted by the corrupt fbi. Even if he’s indicted they’ll cheer the fact that they can elect a felon.

Not directed at you, but every time this acronym gets used, I think it's childish. If conservatives did this after Obama, it would be viewed as petty and stupid. Just say the fucking idiot's name. What's more empowering, going out of the way to make up another term or just using the name? Seems to draw more attention. Just my opinion.

If Obama were impeached twice and set in motion the events of 1/6, as well as bragged about grabbing women by the pussy, colluded with putin on the ritz and called "both sides" good people, I'd say it would be justified. POOTWH doesn't deserve the respect of my typing or saying his name. Although I suppose I could lengthen it to, "PPOSITWH," if that would make you feel better?

Don't worry, I'll do me. Honesty and all.

Yep. They have changed their stories about 5 times just in the last ten days. It's quite obvious who is full of shit.

I don't think the right is too worried about the last 2 weeks my friend. Unless your talking about something other than a weaponized FBI raid and a Build Back Broke spending bill that will do little to stop inflation. I think the right just needs to get out of the way and let this administration just keep doing what it does best.

You don't need to justify Obama v. Trump comparisons to me, but which statement is more disparaging, Trump is a piece of shit or POOTWH is a piece of shit? The reasoning for either of us to come to that conclusion is obvious, but that doesn't mean there aren't conservatives who think Obama was shit. My point is simply, no matter the merits, it's dumb for either side to assign childish nicknames/acronyms. Just curious, is that how you refer to him when you talk to people in person?

The difference is deserved versus undeserved and while you and I may be able to discern the difference, many are not, including several posters on this very forum. I do my damnedest to not utter POOTWH’s name ever and will say the acronym out loud word for word or use your preferred reference of POS if who I’m speaking with doesn’t compute. That is, if I’m out of my mom’s basement actually speaking with someone. There’s a virusssss out there you know.

Serious question. How many "trump people" are even active on these boards? I can think of 3-4 who pop in from time to time, and it seems as if they do so just for a reaction from the same people who choose to engage with them. I think it is ridiculous to assume "white power" every time a fist in the air is presented. Confusing that with being a trump person is nonsense, much like choosing to ignore the similarity in petty tactics being used by both parties supporters.

The man who perfected the art of manipulating and using media to his ends and makes an appearance every time with calculated fore thought is not randomly throwing up an upraised fist. These are not one offs or random occurrences. They are calculated and purposeful to send a message to his supporters, of which some of us know what contingent are represented. To compare them to Brandon or Obama’s or Rage Against the Machine’s one offs and with zero context is laughable. The excuse making and dismissals are disgusting.

Mods cleaned house right after the election in 2016. The magas in here were being really obnoxious and openly hostile to people. The election was quite validating for them, if you can imagine.

Trump Org. CFO expected to plead guilty in NY tax case
    By MICHAEL R. SISAK
    15 Aug 2022

NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump’s longtime finance chief is expected to plead guilty as soon as Thursday in a tax evasion case that is the only criminal prosecution to arise from a long-running investigation into the former president’s company, three people familiar with the matter told The Associated Press.

Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg was scheduled to be tried in October on allegations he took more than $1.7 million in off-the-books compensation from the company, including rent, car payments and school tuition.

Prosecutors in the Manhattan district attorney's office and Weisselberg's lawyers met Monday with the judge overseeing the case, Juan Manuel Merchan, according to court records. The judge then scheduled a hearing in the matter for 9 a.m. Thursday but did not specify the reason.

The people who spoke to the AP did so on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the case. They said the purpose of Thursday’s hearing was for Weisselberg to enter a guilty plea, but cautioned that plea deals sometimes fall apart before they are finalized in court.

Weisselberg’s lawyer, Nicholas Gravante Jr., told The New York Times on Monday that Weisselberg has been engaged in plea negotiations to resolve the case, but did not specify terms of a potential plea deal. Reached by the AP, Gravante declined to comment.

The Times, citing two people with knowledge of the matter, said Weisselberg was expected to receive a five-month jail sentence, which would make him eligible for release after about 100 days. The deal would not require Weisselberg to testify or cooperate in any way with an ongoing criminal investigation into Trump's business practices.

Trump’s company, the Trump Organization, is also charged in the case but did not appear to be involved in the plea agreement talks. Weisselberg and the Trump Organization have pleaded not guilty.

The Manhattan district attorney’s office declined comment. A message seeking comment was left with a lawyer for the Trump Organization.

News of Weisselberg’s plea negotiations came days after the judge denied requests by his lawyers and the Trump Organization to throw out the case. The judge did drop one criminal tax fraud count against the company citing the statute of limitations, but more than a dozen other counts remain.

In seeking dismissal of the case, Weisselberg’s lawyers argued prosecutors in the Democrat-led district attorney’s office were punishing him because he wouldn’t offer up damaging information against the former president.

The judge rejected that argument, saying that evidence presented to the grand jury was legally sufficient to support the charges.

Weisselberg, who turned 75 on Monday, is the only Trump executive charged in the yearslong criminal investigation started by former Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., who went to the Supreme Court to secure Trump’s tax records. Vance’s successor, Alvin Bragg, is now overseeing the investigation. Several other Trump executives have been granted immunity to testify before a grand jury in the case.

Prosecutors alleged that Weisselberg and the Trump Organization schemed to give off-the-books compensation to senior executives, including Weisselberg, for 15 years. Weisselberg alone was accused of defrauding the federal government, state and city out of more than $900,000 in unpaid taxes and undeserved tax refunds.

The most serious charge against Weisselberg, grand larceny, carried a potential penalty of five to 15 years in prison. The tax fraud charges against the company are punishable by a fine of double the amount of unpaid taxes, or $250,000, whichever is larger.

Trump has not been charged in the criminal probe, but prosecutors have noted that he signed some of the checks at the center of the case. Trump, who has decried the New York investigations as a “political witch hunt,” has said his company’s actions were standard practice in the real estate business and in no way a crime.

Last week, Trump sat for a deposition in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ parallel civil investigation into allegations Trump’s company misled lenders and tax authorities about asset values. Trump invoked his Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination more than 400 times.

In the months after Weisselberg’s arrest, the criminal probe appeared to be progressing toward a possible criminal indictment of Trump himself, but the investigation slowed, a grand jury was disbanded and a top prosecutor left after Bragg took office in January — although he insists it is continuing.

I love how some of the Trump people are back and not even acknowledging the fact that he's now under a criminal investigation, choosing instead, to post about nonsense. lol
Hi. Would you like to discuss the criminal investigation surrounding Donald Trump? The 3-4 people you mention do only pop in to get a reaction and argue about stuff like that. Would you like to talk about stuff with substance? I miss the days when we had republicans who did that....

The bolded section is spot on.  What better way to draw attention than to go on a fan site knowing your views are contradictory to most others and then pushing for a response.  It would be like me, a huge Replacements fan, getting on a Replacements fan site and saying things like, "The Replacements Stink."
Oh, but wait, they do stink.

Never mind (all over but the shouting.)

I have no issue playing devils advocate or pressing on issues, even if I don't even fully agree with my own writings.  It keeps the place from being an echo chamber.

But I cannot defend Trump or this iteration of the GOP.

gotta do something to try to own the libs with the last 2 weeks that the biden administration has had.
I don't think the right is too worried about the last 2 weeks my friend. Unless your talking about something other than a weaponized FBI raid and a Build Back Broke spending bill that will do little to stop inflation. I think the right just needs to get out of the way and let this administration just keep doing what it does best.
if you would read about what you are criticizing you would see that most economists agree that the bill will actually lower inflation very quickly. this was why manchin was the hold out because he did not believe it. when it was shown to him and it was proven to him he signed on and got the bill passed. if manchin can read and listen to experts, you can too,

i don't know why i am even responding to you in the first place. no matter what biden accomplishes you will never vote for him. but the gop will never win another national election ever again with their positions on the issues. there are not enough of you all out there.

They already know this and have still been able to seat 2 of the last 4 presidents by manipulating a handful of swing states. What they are starting to realize is that even that won't continue to work so now they're trying to elect corrupt officials who will scream fraud if a democrat wins, but all GOP wins will always be legit. It's ridiculous.
    It's a hopeless situation...

“In Person”…. You think this guy ever leaves the house??
