    I'm merely suggesting the broken clock theory. 
    While I doubt anyone would have predicted the sequence of events on January 6, I think a lot of people predicted that Trump, a lifelong sore loser would not lose gracefully or go away quietly. My prediction was that he would struggle with the very fact that he wasn't a dictator and would not do well with slow moving government. And for that, and many other reasons, I thought he was unfit. I didn't always think that way about others I dislike, such as Moscow Mitch, Rand Paul, etc...and my disliking of them and my not liking what they stand for did not make them unfit. Their fealty to Russia and the ongoing attempt at one-party autocracy, on the other hand, does. 

    What I could never have predicted is the entire party's role in helping Trump achieve his desire of being king.

    And we're at the point in the GOP where unfit is the new fit. MGT, Bobert, and Cawthorn were all elected because they lib-owning shock-jock types and they preceded to get paid six-figures of public money annually to tweet. Yeah, they're unfit. 

    I started replying with the intent of agreeing with you...but the more I think about, the more I think "unfit" is not really overused anymore.

    It still boggles my mind that POOTWH skipped the inauguration and still hasn’t conceded. That would in and of itself in the absence of 1/6 be abhorrent. And imagine if Al Gore kept going to court, ran his mouth, and then just blew off the inauguration?

    He is clearly an odd individual.  I wonder at the end of the day what drives him to do what he does.  He would have won the election if he wasn’t as much of an idiot on Twitter and stuck to the script more. All the legislation he was a part of and executive orders he enacted didn’t make him lose.  He barely lost because people were exhausted with his behavior.

    Why? Why? Why? Why?  

    All of these people are being shown as 'heroes' for protecting democracy...   why on earth were they rooting for this crook in 2020 after such a burning hot garbage presidency?   This alone is what baffles me.  The man had done nothing to earn anyone's respect before he even announced his candidacy.  He did nothing to earn anyone's respect during his first campaign. He did nothing to earn anyone's respect during his presidency.  What am I missing here?  These guys in particular don't strike me as the dumb, will fall for anything idiots that Trump seems to attract.  So why did they still want him to win in 2020?  What I'm hoping they ask... and I'm not sure if it's just deemed too much of an ask... would they vote for him in 2024?  Ask these people who wanted Trump to win in 2020 if they still want him to win today.  My goodness.

    It really is baffling.  I know smart educated people who still support Trump.  The people I know don't seem like they are racist or homophobic so it's kind of hard for me to understand. I get they prefer GOP economic policies but can't wrap my mind that semi-intelligent people would support this guy then and can't fathom in any universe people who would still support this guy.  It's actually disheartening to know so much of this country would still support such human garbage that Trump and his family are.

    I've never believed the "if you support a racist you are a racist" idea. that's lazy. people have their priorities in life and politics, and vote for whomever alligns with those priorities. people are willing to look the other way as long as the offence is only perceived/debatable and not tangible (or they secretly share some of those same sentiments and just aren't overt about it). some only care about the cult of personality. some just want to watch the world burn.
