actually, I have. I don't expect you to have seen it....we're not all here 24/7. But I believe the guy has changed his opinions on things over the years...evolved. trump has made no such attempts, and even uses dog whistles to gain support from like minded racists.JB16057 said:HughFreakingDillon said:
are you seriously arguing the merits of voting for trump over biden because of....racism?JB16057 said:
Maybe you should have this conversation with Kamala.... Remember when she called Biden out for racism..... and then went on a late night talk show and just laughed it off? "It was a debate...... hahahaha..."mrussel1 said:
Do you really want to have this discussion? Are you fully prepared and understand these topics where you want to go toe to toe on them, starting with busing and moving onto the Robert Byrd and his repentance? Do you understand the history of busing and desegregation? Because it seems to me that you're just clipping shit out that you probably never studied.JB16057 said:HughFreakingDillon said:

They're trashBigotry: obstinate or unreasonable attachment to a belief, opinion, or faction; in particular, prejudice against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular group. How is bigotry OK?How is bigotry OK? It goes hand in hand with racism.Bigotry, Racism, Hatred.....So wait, you're telling me that "many" of the 74 millions are on trial? Are you for real? A very tiny minority is more like it.Remember when all of the Dems were burning down our cities in 2020?Both sides have extreme morons but that does not justify bigotry.
I also agree not every one of them is deplorable. that's just plain silly to say. But what they are, is so entrenched in their politics that they were willing to swallow their disgust for the man only because he had an R beside his name. I'd say that's a much bigger problem. In 2010, he warmly eulogized Sen. Robert Byrd, a former Exalted Cyclops in the Ku Klux Klan, saying he was “one of my mentors” and that “the Senate is a lesser place for his going.”
In 2007, he referred to Barack Obama as “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean.”
In 2006, he said, “You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.”
Way back in 1977, he said that forced busing to desegregate schools would cause his children to “grow up in a racial jungle.”
I'm pointing out the hypocrisy. You'll call our Trump for his racism but you won't do the same for Biden.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0 -

Now? It's just this same disingenuous bullshit all the time.
You're the one personally attacking me! Kat already had to edit one of your posts today because you can't keep from name calling.
Let's get back on track. What do you take issue with regarding Hillary's actual quote here? Seriously? And do you think any portion of Trump's base exhibits this behavior? If so, what percentage of them do, generally speaking. Curious to your response, if you'd like to have a reasonable conversation:
“You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right?” Clinton said. “The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic—you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.”Yes, seriously. You resorted to name calling and then you turn around and pat yourself on the back for being "rational".0 -
Ok, then I apologize to you but there are plenty of people here that don't call Biden out for his racism.HughFreakingDillon said:

“You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right?” Clinton said. “The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic—you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.”

Russia-Ukraine war Vladimir Putin State of the Union Address Joe Biden Janet Yellen Illinois ChicagoYellen: US to 'freeze, seize' wealth of Russian oligarchsBy FATIMA HUSSEIN1 minute ago
CHICAGO (AP) — Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen used a visit to Chicago on Wednesday to spotlight the Biden administration's determination to strip Russian oligarchs of their wealth in response to Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine.
“We have made it a priority to go after oligarchs or Russian elites who are key to President Putin’s corrupt power,” Yellen said. She added that Treasury, along with the Justice Department and U.S. allies, plans to “uncover, freeze and seize their wealth around the world.”
Yellen was in Chicago the day after President Joe Biden's State of the Union address to amplify his message as Cabinet members fanned out around the country. She made a point to stop at a bakery in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood as a show of support.
She followed that with a a speech at the University of Illinois-Chicago that suggested the sanctions against Russian companies and powerful individuals will only intensify after a series of salvos that began last week.

I answered this question with the facts you seem to desire a few years ago in the POOTWH thread but seeing how you’re relatively new, I’ll repeat it. It was based on polling of POOTWH supporters around racial attitudes which showed approximately 30-35% held racist views, ergo “deplorable.”JB16057 said:

Unfortunately, I think Biden's timid/moderate style of politics is just going to disappoint (much like Obama did) and we will get another Trump term or from a way more intelligent/evil right wing populist if not in 2024, definitely in 2028.
As for the "Dems were burning down our cities in 2020" narrative... it is patently false. Those of us who actually live in these cities can attest that. No city was burnt down, and protests were overwhelmingly peaceful and non-violent. The only ones who believe otherwise watch and listen to way too much scaremongering right wing media.
You cannot address Hillary's actual quote, can you?I am talking about your quote and the narrative that this message board pushes pull of hatred. If you want to clump in 50% of a group of people without facts, that is bigotry, is it not?
As such, 30-35% of POOTWH voters, 22,266,887 to 25,978,035 of ‘Muricans age 18+ = 8.6-10% of the US population.
8.6% to 10% of ‘Muricans are deplorable. 30% to 35% of POOTWH voters are deplorable.

1. I was extremely critical of Kamala and her comment at the first debate. If you go back to the debates page, I hammered her for being dirty and disingenuous with that remark. Plus it's factually inaccurate. Busing was extremely unpopular with both Whites and Blacks. Black children spent their days on the buses just like the white kids did. Plus all educational analysis that was done in the 80s and 90s show that it did not increase test scores at all. It was a failure as a policy which is why it is not in place today.JB16057 said:
Maybe you should have this conversation with Kamala.... Remember when she called Biden out for racism..... and then went on a late night talk show and just laughed it off? "It was a debate...... hahahaha..."mrussel1 said:
Do you really want to have this discussion? Are you fully prepared and understand these topics where you want to go toe to toe on them, starting with busing and moving onto the Robert Byrd and his repentance? Do you understand the history of busing and desegregation? Because it seems to me that you're just clipping shit out that you probably never studied.JB16057 said:HughFreakingDillon said:

Their supporters certainly don't
2. Robert Byrd was sorrowful, remorseful and repentant about his time in the KKK. I think that's great. If there is one thing that has gone missing in this country it is Grace. And I mean this in the biblical sense. The second thing we have forgotten is forgiveness. People who point to Robert Byrd and his youth compared to the wisdom and grace of his elder years should not call themselves Christians.
3. For the same reason above, Joe Biden has said some dumb things over the course of his 80 years on this Earth. He has lived through radically different generations. I give him a ton of credit for adapting to the times rather than being an old codger bitching about how good things used to be. I'm pretty sure you've said dumb things. I have too. But are you still saying them today? That's the difference between Biden and the Deplorables.
4. I'm pretty sure if Obama got over Biden's comment, you can too.0 -
Trump is the favored candidate of christian white supremacists, neonazis and klansmen. That's it. It doesn't matter if other conservatives, whether they are Black/Brown/Asian. He wins on the racism spectrum because he managed to create a coalition made up of people who historically rarely if ever voted because of their mistrust of the US government (largely along racial/conspiratorial lines).0

Love the phrasing of this. A challenge to have a discussion. That may have worked on the last guy, where everything was PR, but this President actually gives a shit.Merkin Baller said:What the fuck?
“Gives a shit.” Lol, joe doesn’t even know where he is at any given moment.Lol!! This was some grade A taunting by Vlad. First he mocks Joe’s health, wishing him “good health” several times, lol- he knows the dude is playing with at most about 45 cards. Then he says “I want to propose to President Biden to continue our discussion, but on the condition that we do it basically live, as it’s called. Without any delays and directly in an open, direct discussion”
well played, Vlad. He knows there’s no way Biden can hold a coherent unhelped conversation without going full on “ok, look, here’s the deal... (followed by one flew over the cookoos nest loony tunes stuff),” or it being edited, altered, etc. by Joe’s puppeteers. the White House responded by saying Biden was “very busy.” Hahahaha- doing what, taking a nap? Getting a diaper change? Walking aimlessly around lost talking about pudding? It was essentially a Putin mic drop, but while walking away and tossing it back over his shoulder.Reminds me of the trump administration. I felt like most of the time the folks behind the scenes there were like “oh god, what has he said/done now that we have to fix?!”The gold with Trump was that he was completely unhinged and unpredictable. No one knew what he was going to do next. That’s a good way to keep enemies at bay. With Joe? Just open up Obama’s or Democrat plan books from the past- he has no capability to make his own choices, and the world leaders know it.
