So what is President Biden's course of action?  Are we good with economic sanctions?

Oh my god, they're not kidding. They actually think it's fake news.
Not that I don’t think they would play something like that. But that doesn’t even look like TV screenshot to me. Looks like a website. So just saying looks odd that a picture of Russia TV looks like a website all in English. But I know nothing about RT, so maybe that’s normal. I don’t know.
Should be nothing wrong with asking a question. That’s how we learn. Don’t need to chastise anyone for it.
That is a website.  Go to the site.  You’ll see what it’s about.  It is called Russia Today and is owned and operated by the Russian govt.  I’m surprised you’ve never run across them before.

So if you knows this (like I know this) why would you link to them asking me how I feel about what they are posting? It is a propaganda site. Why would you, me, or anyone fucking care! Literal Fake Fucking News.
I’m asking how you feel about a man that you have defended, saying thingS that are clearly pro Russian and seamlessly turned into propaganda.  I’m not asking your opinion of RT.
You are being disingenuous and you know it. Putin has played you, the people you support, and the institutions you idolize like a fiddle. Is he a genius? I don’t know. Is he smart? You’re goddamn fucking right he is! That isn’t being pro-Russian! That is recognizing that Putin read the rest of you morons and has planned accordingly! Trump is calling you out and it’s just killing you. Do I care that a propaganda dish rag is making fun of you too? Hell fucking no. The 80’s called…

In the 80's the republicans cared more about America than Russia.  I wish the 80's would call.  It's an embarrassment.  You are right about 2 things:
    1) Putin is smart
    2) Putin did play some like a fiddle....but it's not who you are suggesting.

It is those in the US government and US population that now defend a tyrant.  It is those that knew Putin attacked our democracy through our election in 2016 and did nothing about it.

It would be nice if people could admit they were wrong and move forward against our common enemy...but it's more important to lie and do what you think wins elections....even when you do nothing with it.

  • I doubt anyone in the Swedish government, when offering aid wanted to be painted in propaganda as being part of "building an anti-putin coalition".

It's hard to do much else without putting boots on the ground.  And there is no appetite for that in this country, left or right. So it looks like the strategy will be to strangle them economically.  You're looking at a few years here.

basically, in the world today, if anybody uses nukes, it is suicide as they will receive nukes from other countries almost immediately.
I believe, in the world today that it is not as binary as this.

There’s other option. We’ve had conflicts with minimal boots on the ground before. Air strikes. I’m sure our Allie’s bases are close enough for manned and drone air strikes. Target their lines, defenses, navy thats assembling. .
My guess would also be the fear of escalating. What would Putin do next? Would he go nuclear if he feels that threatened? Or would he just invade other countries and target those bases?

I've never been to eastern europe, but I just have this perception they grow up different than we do. We don't know local conflict like they do in recent memory.

The President of Ukraine Zelensky a former tv personality and comedian, it’s strong of him to stay in the country but I’m afraid he won’t live for so long.
This war is so bizarre and sick. I feel mostly for all the children off course, it’s hard not to cry.

It's a combination of desperation and propaganda.

Which is smart and it works on me personally.

I'm really disappointed in the West right now. I'm antiwar and have protested many wars but this feels different. Like we really should be doing a lot more than sanctions.

At least a no fly zone.

I was trying to think how far back we’d have to go to find a U.S. president that would. Eisenhower was my first choice, even though he was pretty old by time he was president.

i see these pictures and i think of american leaders that talk so tough. i try to imagine matt gaetz, josh hawley, and ted cruz dressing up in their jabroni cosplay to try to win votes rather than try to defend something that is under attack and i just have to laugh and shake my head.
