 1) Putin is smart
 2) Putin did play some like a fiddle....but it's not who you are suggesting.
It is those in the US government and US population that now defend a tyrant. It is those that knew Putin attacked our democracy through our election in 2016 and did nothing about it.
It would be nice if people could admit they were wrong and move forward against our common enemy...but it's more important to lie and do what you think wins elections....even when you do nothing with it.hippiemom = goodness0

There’s other option. We’ve had conflicts with minimal boots on the ground before. Air strikes. I’m sure our Allie’s bases are close enough for manned and drone air strikes. Target their lines, defenses, navy thats assembling. .mrussel1 said:

My guess would also be the fear of escalating. What would Putin do next? Would he go nuclear if he feels that threatened? Or would he just invade other countries and target those bases?0

I've never been to eastern europe, but I just have this perception they grow up different than we do. We don't know local conflict like they do in recent memory.gimmesometruth27 said:

The President of Ukraine Zelensky a former tv personality and comedian, it’s strong of him to stay in the country but I’m afraid he won’t live for so long.
This war is so bizarre and sick. I feel mostly for all the children off course, it’s hard not to cry.

Which is smart and it works on me personally.
I'm really disappointed in the West right now. I'm antiwar and have protested many wars but this feels different. Like we really should be doing a lot more than sanctions.
At least a no fly zone.

I was trying to think how far back we’d have to go to find a U.S. president that would. Eisenhower was my first choice, even though he was pretty old by time he was president.gimmesometruth27 said:

i see these pictures and i think of american leaders that talk so tough. i try to imagine matt gaetz, josh hawley, and ted cruz dressing up in their jabroni cosplay to try to win votes rather than try to defend something that is under attack and i just have to laugh and shake my head.HughFreakingDillon said:
