Ordered a bunch of vinyl from Acoustic Sounds and Newbury (one off eBay). Should arrive over the next couple of weeks.

Nice eclectic batch for you to look forward to!

“Possessed to Skate!” That one went with me everywhere in the Walkman or boom box.

“How Can I Laugh Tomorrow” was another killer track.

Lombardo was tearing it up with them last show I saw. You’d think he’d take more to the thrashier songs, but he was way more into playing the punk songs.

    That guy is incredible.

@GlowGirl , whenever you should get whatever type of attorney handles such things (wills and estates, maybe?), please remember to specify that you are to be buried in that shirt.
Good idea. Then my skeleton can be wearing skeletons.

now you have to try it on and model it for us.
    Maybe someday I will  :)

Thanks blux! Some records I’ve wanted for a while. Shipping charges can be a bitch to Canada, but what the hell.

Yeah.  my joint I used to go to sells bootlegs by the pile. I don't know anything about the record store biz.  Mainly pretty colored ultra limited imports. Not cheap. Me no likey.
a buddy of mine owns a record store. never used to sell bootlegs, but i guess since all the others in the city sell bootlegs, he had to compete. so now he does.
    Darwinspeed, all.

    Cheers,

I don’t blame the record shop owners for selling boots. What I don’t like is when they don’t identify them as unofficial. Consumers have varying degrees of knowledge in vinyl purchasing. If it is a bootleg, this information should be readily available to the consumer.

Some stores here are better than others.

So I just bought 2 John Batiste albums, a used Wet Willie record, the new Billie Eilish and the latest Black Pumas album.  Records are $35 now new?!?

I looked for the Doors new releases and they were $40, $50 and $60 for a new record...  The Metallica Black box set?  $259.  If this keeps up I'll go digital and buy used...

Oh and they did have an Abbey rd and Led Zep iV copies used but for $20 and a beat up cover I wasn't touching them as i don't know enough about them.

They better watch out if ol' Neil comes around!
    From the article:
"A 1971 video of Neil Young confiscating a CSNY bootleg album from a record store was making the rounds on social media this weekend.

The rare footage shows Young meandering through a record store, discovering bootlegged albums, including a Dylan album, and leaving the store with the CSNY album, saying he should not have to pay for it.

The record store clerk is confused, doesn’t recognize Young, and they end up calling a higher-up on the telephone.

Young leaves the store with the album.

    Fun viewing."

    See video in link.

I'm a big fan of American Laundromat Records and this looked interesting but I'm not familiar with  most of these artists.  How do you like it?

It is really good. I wasn’t familiar with some of the artists either except for Tonya Donnelly, the ladies from Veruca Salt and a few others. They do a good job on the songs. Some are arranged like the originals and some are changed a bit differently.  If you go to Bandcamp, you can listen to all the songs.

Reckoning is one of my favorite R.E.M. albums (also saw them tour for that LP- good times!)
