Hi people, I’m coming in solo from San Diego for the first weekend, and staying at an air b n b that’s some distance away. I’m hoping that have a second shuttle that is more central for the Irvine/LA folks and not down south like an Clemente.

Anyway, I’m a big pj fan been seeing them since ‘94 and have too much fomo to miss any SoCal shows. First time at Ohana and headed to encore too, w a friend.

Anyway I would too meet up with folks before or during the shows, especially those crunchy phish heads. I’m hoping to see some artist collabs!

enjoy the return to live music everyone. Southern ca shows seem to start up again this weekend.
we can talk about phish but i'm mostly gonna be talking about how lame the trey pandemic songs are :)

Stay tuned for the Wishlist Foundation pre-party. It's a great place for orphans, singles, large groups and everyone in-between. Basically, it's a grassroots, fan-run, fully independent organization that does a lot of good things around the country in conjunction with Pearl Jam (and related) shows.

    https://www.facebook.com/wishlistfoundation/

This page is for the "Encore" show, but there's pages for the other nights:

    https://facebook.com/events/s/pearl-jam-ohana-encore-prepart/437246750597054/

So what I'm saying is this:

You're more than welcome to start your own meetup, but why not let others do the work? It just seems odd to have mutiple meetups (the exception being the sober fans and that's understandable.)

    Hi Lost in Ohio!

Definitely not trying to step on any toes starting this page. :) It's definitely less formal. As an introvert, I find it's easier to meet with smaller groups as sort of like a "base" than inject myself solo into a large group of people I don't know. I'm sure that many of us want to attend the Wishlist Foundation Pre-Party. I'm sure I speak for all when I say that I'm looking forward to more details! :)

Hi, I didn't think this thread was for people who wanted to start their own meetup to rival the Wishlist pre-party, rather to find fellow solo travelers to meet up the night before, after, attend the Wishlist pre-party and concert together, etc. I've gone solo to Wishlist pre-parties before and felt incredibly awkward going up to groups of strangers trying to small talk. With this thread, I can connect with people and show up with someone to talk to at the party!

To sum up: This was never intended to be an alternative to the Wishlist party at all. The opposite, in fact.

Anticipation and excitement builds...looking forward to these shows having not seen them since 2014. I'll check back on this to see where people are connecting and maybe add some Ohana tips.  I feel like an Ohana veteran having been to 3 out of the 4 years Eddie's done this.

  • I might end up being an orphan for the encore weekend. The commitment I had for that weekend fell through and now I am giving some serious thought to flying in to go to the festival. It would just be myself going, my wife is a teacher and can't get off of work to go with me. Obviously finding an affordable place to stay is going to be difficult, but if I can find someone who can't go and has a room somewhere in Dana Point, Capistrano Beach or San Clemente that they are looking to transfer, or have extra room in an AirBnb I just might the decision to go for it.
  • I went ahead and pulled the trigger for travelling to encore weekend alone. I found a hotel in Oceanside and will drive to catch the shuttle each day. I am going on an adventure, as my granddaughter likes to say!
  • Anyone on this thread want to sit in the stands at the back and take turns saving the seats while the others roam around? Might work well with a small group.

    Hi Everyone!

Can you believe that the first weekend is only two weeks away??? I got my first weekend passes and I'm waiting for the second weekend. I actually got a little emotional with the anticipation. My BF says he won't believe it's still happening until the day of, which honestly, I can't blame him. I'm an optimist though.

Now that we have maps and such, perhaps we can organize little meetup spaces? For the first weekend, I am on the fence about going night one, but I'd love to connect with people on Saturday and Sunday. Any suggestions?

How about alternatively we go for the rail and claim some space!  Pipe dreams I'm sure, but I would like to try and get fairly close at least one of the three PJ shows.  The bleachers are way too far away and uncomfy.  Past years we found plenty of space halfway back or more to take blanket breaks or just roam.

  • I just scored tickets (and shuttle passes) to the Encore Weekend and will be coming up solo from San Diego each day.  If anyone else wants to share a ride, that might be fun.  Otherwise, I'll keep tabs on this thread and hopefully meet up with a few of you at the shows.  Really excited to finally see some live music, especially Pearl Jam!
I'll see you on the other side ...

I am so down for that! I'll be with my partner the first weekend, but for the second weekend I'm solo. Let's get to the rail!!!

Ok. New plan. My kid wants UP FRONT anyhow. Being a head shorter than adults we could prey on people's goodwill to let us pass. Haha jk!

I could give a flying fuck where we end up, honestly, because omg we get to dance to real live guitars!!!!!! Playing GIGATON!

Awesome! I'm guessing there will be people literally camping out, so the rail is such a long shot, but totally willing to get there early to claim some space.  Let's connect and advice is to bring a cheap blanket or cheap beach towels to lay down for early sets...helps to claim space. People seemed to respect those in prior years up until the act or two before Ed.  Sunday will be insane though with the PJ Faithful in house.

You will be happy to hear that the screens on both sides of the stage are amazing.  I've gotten some incredible videos from those screens over the years, and they help the vertically challenged like you wouldn't believe :-)

This sounds like a good plan. I’m also down to get there early and try to get a good spot near the stage. I’m driving down from LA and was planning on getting there relatively early in the morning to find parking. I’m assuming we won’t be able to get rail but I’d be thrilled with anywhere somewhat close to the stage.

Encore orphan here staying in Laguna Hills and taking the shuttle in. Trying to plan what I’ll be doing during the week in between shows. Thinking of renting a car during the week and venturing out of laguna. Any recommendations?
