Just some thinly cut pounded out chicken breasts.  One of my favorite summer meals!

Nice and quick that way.  I like to let em sit for 30 mins or so with a shitton of spices and some oil but I still like em with just salt and lemon or as a burger with all of the fixings.

Yeah we go lemon, olive oil and a salt rub marinating in a zip lock bag for a few hours.  Delish!

    That looks and sounds great!

I can't help wondering how insane my version of that will be a month from now with the jersey tomatoes and corn in.
Drove past our local farm today and they don't have the goods yet....getting impatient!
    :)

Pickled sugar snap peas are our traditional boat snack...the crispest pickle you never had.  Makes a cucumber pickle seem mushy.

These sound amazing and am getting on making these asap. I'd eat, and drink, that entire jar.

Yes! Never tried that and my snap peas were bogus this season. Will try for a fall crop and do something with the dirt so they produce.

Fall peas don't always do well here in USDA zone 6...it's a gamble.  A hot spell in late August/early September can stunt them beyond recuperation, and an early hard frost can end production just when it starts.
The key is regular watering, foliage and soil, with nice cool water to get them through the early heat.

Definitely try pickling them, they are so crisp it's insane.

My brother is visiting and he wanted a black and white cookie. All I could think about was Jerry telling Elaine how we need to look to the cookie to solve racial problems.

    One of my favorites!
Perhaps I will buy one today.
The deli near me makes killer ones and also has deliciously rare roast beef.

    Sold!

But did you remember to get a piece of black and white in each bite. Look to the cookie.

Pickled snap peas will be made in the very near future too.

    My personally developed recipe...
Brine--1cup water: 1cup vinegar: 2 teaspoons pickling salt, bring to boil, immediately pour over pint jars prepared with...
Freshly picked and stringed sugar snap peas.  Fresher is better, they lose their snap within a few hours.  They are best after they plump up, more crisp and more sweet, but then you have to be sure to string both sides.
    Each jar gets packed with:
     peas
1 tbsp red pepper flakes (I only use a teaspoon, but my flakes are my own dried hot cayennes and I'm guessing you'd need more if they were store bought)
2 teaspoons (more for extra sweet) white sugar
    2 whole cloves
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/2 teaspoon dried onion flakes
    Pinch of black pepper
