Spinach is quite good when it's on the ole roast pork.

Had a sammie from Tank & Libby's today - I asked for long hots on the side and they just didn't give them to me. They are usually excellent but this was somewhat dry. Should've gone to Carlino's like I was talking about.

Not necessarily a proper roast pork, but I love to do this porchetta recipe in the oven. Chop it up, mix in some of the cracklings, served with EXTRA sharp provolone, roasted red peppers, garlic spinach, and sometimes get nuts with some horseradish. All on some kind of delicious roll.

I love rabe, but I don’t understand why it has to be heaped on in such massive quantities like most places do. Isn’t the whole point of it that it has a powerful bitter flavor? Shouldn’t a little go a long way? I usually end up scraping about half of mine off.
Exactly my thoughts. Spinach with garlic, like they do at John's,  doesn't take away from the flavor. John will fight you if you ask for rabe.

    Rabe and long hots, gents!

JP--yeah that beer was a Pineapple Punge. You ever have that? It's a damn near perfect beverage.
Hell yeah. I mean. I'll drink any of their beers. Haven't been there in ages though, usually get it from a bar or distributor near me. Their food is legit, too. I just realized they cracked BA's top 50 best breweries in the country.

That looks so good. I think I prefer an Italian sub to a cheesesteak anyway.

Best hoagies I've had are from Antonio's deli - formerly Chickie's.

This one was pretty different. From a place called “Little Sicily Pizza 2” which mostly serves Italian food but the owners are Indian so a lot of the pizza and other items have an Indian influence.

Most notably this “spicy chicken cheesesteak” which is seasoned with “Indian spices” and can be ordered mild, medium, spicy, or extra spicy. And thank god I went for the medium! Very very tasty.

Haha little Sicily rules. Such an odd menu in a top 3 worst parking lot in Philly. It’s good stuff though

Holy shit yeah the parking lot sucked so bad. My girlfriend and I were in the area and it came up on Yelp as one of the best reviewed places around so we gave it a go. Some
of the different pizzas looked really interesting.

Delicious.  That's looks very Sidewinder-ish. Welshie's in Sea Isle I think had the best chick cheesesteaks. No idea if they're still around.

Not a cheese steak, but a hot sandwich, so what the hell. Meatball sub with mozzarella and sweet peppers. Spot in the old neighborhood I get to a couple times a year. Quality hasn't changed in 30 years which is a good thing.
