I’m sure those dudes were in fact being d-bags about it, but I also think the melty factor is why I love American so much. Although I’ve never noticed that Cooper sharp is meltier than any other American.

Cooper Sharp is basically what's in the cheese dip for Chickie and Pete's crab fries. Also, I believe it's used in Mike's BBQ brisket cheesesteak.

Yeah that is the stuff I wanted to puke at when I first saw it and after I ate it, drunk?  I wanted to roll around in it.

    Mike's BBQ!

Had one of my best cheesesteaks ever from Delco Steaks a couple weeks ago. Certainly heads and shoulders above all the "famous" joints. Be forewarned, place is covered in cop memorabilia - if you're against that sort of thing.

I'll still take a roast pork over a cheesesteak almost every time.

I just had another friend of mine tell me this place was great as well. That is next on my list. Broomall representing!

It's super easy to miss and drive right past, especially with the busy West Chester Pike traffic there.

It only makes sense for Broomall to have a great cheesesteak place.

Righto -- I shared a while back that this is why it would take me a lifetime to sample all of the joints around this area....I have to go with someone who wants to do a half and half split.  Otherwise, I am ordering the roast pork.  I like steaks but fucking love the roast pork.

I think if I'm going Broomall cheesesteak/anything I'm going Thunderbird. Unless that place sucks now?

Thunderbird rocks for pizza but Delco Steaks is right down the road and their steaks are better. T-Bird aren't bad though.

Forgot Levittown was 40 minutes away. Maybe next time. Opted for Dinics instead...as well as Ardmore’s finest

I’d mess that thing up. Seems like they go heavy with the greens but that wouldn’t bother me a bit.

If you are in Ardmore and want a roast pork go to Carlino's Market on County Line Rd or something like that - broccoli rabe, chopped hots & provy all melted in there with the pork. Maybe I'll get one next week for Vaccination Celebration.

    Respect the rabe!

I think I also see long hots. And the rabe might actually be spinach greens? I can't stand broccoli rabe (way too bitter for me), much rather would have spinach on there.

    Rabe and long hots, gents!

JP--yeah that beer was a Pineapple Punge. You ever have that? It's a damn near perfect beverage.

I love rabe, but I don’t understand why it has to be heaped on in such massive quantities like most places do. Isn’t the whole point of it that it has a powerful bitter flavor? Shouldn’t a little go a long way? I usually end up scraping about half of mine off.

Spinach is quite good when it's on the ole roast pork.

Had a sammie from Tank & Libby's today - I asked for long hots on the side and they just didn't give them to me. They are usually excellent but this was somewhat dry. Should've gone to Carlino's like I was talking about.

Not necessarily a proper roast pork, but I love to do this porchetta recipe in the oven. Chop it up, mix in some of the cracklings, served with EXTRA sharp provolone, roasted red peppers, garlic spinach, and sometimes get nuts with some horseradish. All on some kind of delicious roll.

Exactly my thoughts. Spinach with garlic, like they do at John's,  doesn't take away from the flavor. John will fight you if you ask for rabe.

Hell yeah. I mean. I'll drink any of their beers. Haven't been there in ages though, usually get it from a bar or distributor near me. Their food is legit, too. I just realized they cracked BA's top 50 best breweries in the country.

That looks so good. I think I prefer an Italian sub to a cheesesteak anyway.

Best hoagies I've had are from Antonio's deli - formerly Chickie's.
