I think the plan is to push the arena shows to spring 2022 and try for the 4 festival shows in late Aug and Sep. I am not saying these shows are happening just that it makes the most amount of sense if they are clinging on to hope of something this year going on.

If we were to get any arena shows this year maybe a December 4 show run in Seattle would work that ends after a mini Canada tour that is 7 shows long. I am bias for the Canada shows to happen of course. Still money is on 2022 for all of the above.

I don‘t think they‘ll play Europe late Summer.Rock Werchter has something up their sleeve for end of August but is „focussing on European bands for this with PJ probably coming back in 2022“ according to a good source.
Pinkpop moving is a legal stunt to get government funds.0 -
For what it's worth (which may not be much at all, but just throwing it out there), I got an email from Ticketmaster this morning announcing that tickets for Wireless (another major festival taking place in Hyde Park during the first week of July) will go on sale tomorrow.
We're just over 3 months away. Surely they wouldn't put them on sale tomorrow without a fair amount of confidence?

BTW pedant alert - but Wireless takes place at Finsbury Park, I believe.Post edited by Gravey1975 on0 -
This whole thing in the UK with fest organizers going ahead with plans is going to be one damn big tease isn't it with the government stepping in in the next couple of months modifying what is allowed this summer and what is not.
What I would like to know is who are the organizers talking to officially and why do they think this summer is plausible? Is it just to get more money out of the government or is there someone high up giving them the green light to make these plans?0 -
OK just to muddy the waters further, Ticketmaster have now just sent out an email saying that the Wireless mail was sent in error: "Sorry if you recently received an email about purchasing tickets for Wireless Festival at Finsbury Park. This event is not currently on sale. We will let you know when we have more information on Wireless Festival."
Make of that what you will....0 -
Uk covid death and hospitalisation numbers continue to plummet fast.

BST really needs to start being transparent with plans. I just read a tweet from BBC noting that the PM is concerned about a third wave:
Boris Johnson has warned the effects of a third wave of coronavirus will "wash up on our shores" from Europe.
The PM said the UK should be "under no illusion" we will "feel effects" of growing cases on the continent.
His comments come amid a row over Covid vaccine supplies, after the president of the European Commission warning the EU could "forbid" doses made in the bloc from being exported to the UK.
EU leaders will hold a virtual meeting on Thursday to discuss their plans.
So, why continue on all honky dory with a music festival in the heart of London in early July? It'll be April soon, and this possible third wave may come very soon. I want to go to London to see PJ as much as the next person, maybe even more anxious, but the optics don't look good. Americans shouldn't have to risk their health to attend a concert in a different country during a pandemic and new variants.
