Glad you are healing up there, Miss M

Last run of any significant length this AM.....only 8 miles...prior to next weekend's marathon distance.

Shit, I have to run more than 3x that?

I don't feel ready at all....it seems that training for a year, and on a specific program since June won't be enough.
Which is actually an exciting feeling.
I look forward to getting it done!
Thanks. You have been working really hard for that marathon distance. You are totally ready. I know all that training will pay off for you next week. Good luck.
Thanks.  I'm going to do it.  I like that I am feeling the way I am about that distance.  A good challenge is fun!

I know you’re going to do it. I have no doubt. You’d do it if you had to run on the bloody stumps of amputated feet (not that it will come to that  )

I don’t know about watches. But I also got tired of running with my phone in my hand. So I got a running pack that goes around my waist. It has room for my phone and my keys. It also came with a water bottle that I use all the time when I run. The pack uses Velcro to tighten around your waist. I can’t even feel it when I run. It completely stays in place.

Nice!  The one I am doing next Sunday was cancelled completely.  No medal or goody bag
...but I am doing it myself.

thats a shame, I was really glad to have the virtual option to keep the motivation levels up, although to be honest right now running for sanity is as good as any reason to run.

Hope it's a good run for you, I did my own in the spring during first lockdown... the last 6 miles without the event excitement was hell 😂

Yeah about what I am expecting...not having other people and crowds cheering will make it a bit more challenging.

Good luck to both of you. I hope to hear all about the marathons. Even though you guys won't have the crowds cheering, I will be cheering you on from afar.

Well, first marathon in the books.  Was pretty tough.  My legs held out pretty well but my back was freaking out most of the time, which was lovely, and my ankle enjoyed it thoroughly.
Next time will be better but it is always a PR the first time and I would have laughed two years ago if someone told me I would do all these different races and even run 26.2 miles in a marathon that I had to do solo.

Goes to show that anyone can do it.  I played three sports in high school but wasn't great at any of them.  Not particularly active in the years since, although I did play some club stuff in college for fun.  When I put on shoes and started a 66 day challenge in Feb 2019 I swore that on day 67 I would be done with running.

    Guess not!

    Good for the soul.

:joy:  Congrats. That is so awesome. I am sorry your back was hurting. But you did it!!! That is very inspiring. You should be so proud of yourself. That is quite a goal you achieved 👏👏👏. Make sure to treat yourself today.

Thanks.  I appreciate all of your encouraging words along the way, this thread is fun.
My treat is laying on the couch all day (which is about all my body is good for today) and watching football.  That is a great day, though, I fully intend to enjoy it!

Great job! I have run one half, but I am not sure if I will ever attempt to do a full. I don't know if I am dedicated enough to do the training required.

well done! Some effort dragging your lonely self around 26.2 miles! in a short time all the pain will be forgotten and you will be lookong for the next one! (theyre always horrible though 😉) 👏👏👏

finished training for mine which is on dec 6th. I have a few under my belt but Im really pushing for sub 3h30m. I turn 41 this week and not getting any quicker so its all or nothing 😂.

So glad to stumble on this thread. The only thing better than running is talking about it.... constantly!

Thanks and good luck on the 6th - that is a tough goal but it sounds like you prepared and are ready.
