    I believe Rod Stewart originally did this song back in the 90’s, but it was written by Tom.

    I think he wrote and recorded it, but then decided not to put it on the album, and then offered it to Rod Stewart.

    I guess that's obvious, as unfortunately he couldn't of recorded it now :(

The mere fact that you can have this conversation and everyone can have such a varying opinion just proves what a master Tom was at his craft.
    For me, Echo definitely is in the Top 3 of the best Tom Petty albums.
    So is Wildflowers - these are two magic records.

    The unboxing of the 9-LP-Super-Deluxe-Edition of Wildflowerrs looks amazong.

    The day has finally arrived. I didn't preorder any of the physical options. I just downloaded the HDTracks 96khz/24 bit version and all I can say is...oh....my...god! How do artists sit on music like this? This is the second time this has happened this year after My Morning Jacket released The Waterfall II. Unbelievable!

    For those wondering, the HDTracks files of the original Wildflowers album say they're from the 2014 Remaster. So, I guess this is what they used to master the vinyl from the box set? So, if you already have that vinyl, you're not getting anything new.

    Ordered the Super Deluxe 9-LP Set from the TP store, it arrived today here in Germany.
    This set looks so amazing, just fantastic.
    This is the greatest Deluxe Box in my collection for sure.
    High Quality.

    Plus I got the 4-CD Deluxe Edition, also a great quality release.

    My record store had 10 3LP copies displayed and 2 of the 7 LP box sets today. 
    Go visit a record store.  Fuck Amazon

    Just got an update from Amazon—will be delivered tomorrow. This is the last time I preorder from Amazon. Usually order from a local shop, but they couldn’t guarantee when it would arrive. Oh well—lesson learned.

    They just announced on the Youtube special that you will get a complimentary hi-res download if you pre-ordered from either the Tom Petty store or the Warner Bros. store. They mentioned that your download will match whatever you ordered...so if you ordered the 4 CD/7 LP version, you will get the download of those 4 discs. Same with the 5 CD/9 LP....5 disc download. They weren't sure about a download if you just bought the 2 CD /3 LP version.

    I guess this explains why they removed the digital downloads from the store...to try and sell more physical copies.

    I sent them an email expressing my disappointment. I should have just waited and bought it from a store. Would have been $40 cheaper and I’d be listening to it right now. 
    They did respond quickly. Mine hasn’t even been sent yet. Nice

    Once again screwed by Amazon pre-order. Amazon Canada makes it look like they don't even have the stock at all, and they're not selling it anymore, except from the secondary market. Worried I won't get it at all, because that's how Amazon roles. Why don't I learn?? I have said I'll never pre-order from Amazon again several times, and then the price and free shipping just sucks me back in. :anguished:
