Yeah I was wondering about the second part. As for removing Marijuana as a schedule 1 it would be completely within his power and definitely be a gesture to the progressive fence sitterS. I think That would be enough to stop the “not a progressive enough ticket” crowd from complaining And likely guarantee that no one runs to the Green Party or writes in Bernie in large enough numbers to effect the race.mrussel1 said:

Better yet, find the video of Sleepy Woke Joe on the campaign trail from 2012? where he tells the kid he can do it, you can overcome it, here’s some hints and tricks and here’s my number, stay in touch. Totally genuine human spirit. Team Trump Treason would have pushed the kid out of the way and then mocked him at the next event. The Juggler said:^
As good as Biden and the Obama's were, that kid was the star of the convention.
Gotta hand it to these democrats. They sure made the most of a bad situation. I liked the drive in thing after his speech last night too. It really worked out well. I'd expect a hybrid kind of convention moving forward too.09/15/1998 & 09/16/1998, Mansfield, MA; 08/29/00 08/30/00, Mansfield, MA; 07/02/03, 07/03/03, Mansfield, MA; 09/28/04, 09/29/04, Boston, MA; 09/22/05, Halifax, NS; 05/24/06, 05/25/06, Boston, MA; 07/22/06, 07/23/06, Gorge, WA; 06/27/2008, Hartford; 06/28/08, 06/30/08, Mansfield; 08/18/2009, O2, London, UK; 10/30/09, 10/31/09, Philadelphia, PA; 05/15/10, Hartford, CT; 05/17/10, Boston, MA; 05/20/10, 05/21/10, NY, NY; 06/22/10, Dublin, IRE; 06/23/10, Northern Ireland; 09/03/11, 09/04/11, Alpine Valley, WI; 09/11/11, 09/12/11, Toronto, Ont; 09/14/11, Ottawa, Ont; 09/15/11, Hamilton, Ont; 07/02/2012, Prague, Czech Republic; 07/04/2012 & 07/05/2012, Berlin, Germany; 07/07/2012, Stockholm, Sweden; 09/30/2012, Missoula, MT; 07/16/2013, London, Ont; 07/19/2013, Chicago, IL; 10/15/2013 & 10/16/2013, Worcester, MA; 10/21/2013 & 10/22/2013, Philadelphia, PA; 10/25/2013, Hartford, CT; 11/29/2013, Portland, OR; 11/30/2013, Spokane, WA; 12/04/2013, Vancouver, BC; 12/06/2013, Seattle, WA; 10/03/2014, St. Louis. I'm surprised to hear you say that the schedule I is really an issue for progressive voters. States individually keep moving on marijuana and it feels like the progress is inevitable. I thought the schedule I importance was really about the research side, the fact that limited testing can occur while it's in this phase. I'm not diminishing the importance of that, particularly for afflictions where MJ can help people, but my faith in humanity is such that I tend to think 90% of people that are pro pot are about the recreational side, not the research.static111 said:

BidentRumpsters aren't sure how to react to Biden's speech last night....he really didn't offer up any major policy items other than universal mask wearing.
The debates will be interesting. Traditional debates are dead in the water. Debating tRump is like debating your drunk uncle.Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)

there is no way for the gop to counter this speech. he blew up their entire narrative that he is declining.
biden was not my first choice, maybe not even my 6th. but i am so excited and happy to vote for him. he is a decent human being, and after the indecency of trump, decency and compassion is what i think we need."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

agreed...a few verbal stumbles but anyone would have those. He did great.
How tRumpsters can talk about Biden's cognitive decline while ignoring tRump's is beyond comprehension. There is literally nothing that they can say about Biden that tRump isn't guilty of other than being left leaning.Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)

I agree. The main thing about removing Marijuana from schedule 1 aside from being the gesture that progressives have been moaning for is that it also would lower associated penalties. In addition it would be like stomping on the gas of that classic car of his and moving the national conversation forward which would probably lead to decriminaliAtion and the reduction of sentences for marijuana violations much faster than just letting the states alone decide.mrussel1 said:

and he did not once complain about the virus or that it was the chinavirus. he acknowledged that the virus is here and that we cannot get back to work and school and cannot get the economy going if we do not address and deal with the virus. this is what leaders do.Gern Blansten said:gimmesometruth27 said:i thought biden gave the speech of his life last night.

he said that trump failed to protect us from the spread of the virus. which he did. he denied it for months, and then did a half ass recommendation for distancing for maybe 3 weeks before saying "fuck it open everything up without restrictions."

Trump again being unhinged. It now appears that Trump doesn't even understand the concept of birth. I guess Fred and Mary Anne didn't do a very good job with the birds & bees discussion, or something.oftenreading said:Apparently Trump now has a birther conspiracy about Biden.Hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right?
“He’d say he was born here,” Trump told listeners in Scranton. “But he left when he was like 8, 9 or 10. So he left 68 years ago, he left — a long time ago. So I view it differently. He wasn’t born here. He abandoned Scranton!”

Find that kids speech. He does more to show the difference between Joe Biden and Donald trump then anyone has. And without having to explicitly say it. It's a powerful, powerful message from that kid. Rah, rah, lotta noise, banners, dumb TV interviewers, etc., so I shouldn't get my expectations up.Let's just get on with the vote and, as old Pop used to say, "Kick the bums out!"
Watch the kid and think to yourself:
1) What would Biden's face look like while listening...what about trumps?
2) If this kid said something that Biden disagreed with, how would biden respond? ...now think trump?Marvelous! Found it here:What courage!
