When do the rumors of Chad leaving the band start?
    I'll say it: Perkins>Smith.
But where does Will Ferrell fit in the equation?

"Encore" came on my shuffle the other day and it reminded me of how good The Getaway is.  I'm really glad Josh was able to make a solid album with them; I wasn't impressed with I'm With You, but he really proved himself.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

Got a tweet from Flea last weekend or so that it has been 14 years since Stadium was released and so decided there’s no time like the present to give it a spin. Good reminder of what a great album it is!

Listened to BloodSugarSexMagic on Vinyl today.  What an album.  Great songs throughout, perfect flow from song to song. Still their best in my opinion.

^^^Thats a good one! Really a masterpiece for your eardrums. I dont have it on vinyl, but snagged a couple of 45s. Righteous and the Wicked sounds great, under t b and give it away. That was a great time for music.

Love most of the Peppers catalogue. Well from Blood Sugar on. But my favorite album (which is hard to pick one) but gun to my head, I’d have to pick One Hot Minute. It just screams of desperation and addiction and sadness. Pea is a heartbreaker of a song. Flea watching Anthony and John destroy themselves and Dave coming in with a sickness of his own. He feels so small in such a big world but when all is said and done he will fight to survive. Sung so fragile and timid. One Hot Minute is the perfect picture of a band and friends hitting rock bottom. It’s awesome.
    Peace,Love and Pearl Jam.

I can't rate Josh records because I haven't listened to them, but for the first nine, I'd go

    By the Way
    Blood Sugar Sex Magik
    Stadium Arcadium
    Freaky Styley
    The Uplift Mofo Party Plan
    Californication
    Mother's Milk
    One Hot Minute
    Red Hot Chili Peppers

Whoa, Californication pretty low.  I think it may be actually one of my favorite of theirs. I think it may also have their most interesting b-sides till date.

But I guess thats the great thing about bands with a somewhat bigger album list, you can see how much the reception varies amongst fans, which is pretty interesting.

Really well said as far as where RHCP were at that time.  I always thought One Hot Minute was wildly underrated.  While BloodSugarSexMagic is my favorite One Hot Minute may be 2.  Some truly great songs on there including Warped, Aeroplane, Deep Kick, Transcending.  And a lot of other interesting songs, some hits some misses but overall as you articulated well some desperation which leads to some risk taking on songs.
Interestingly saw RHCP live twice, once on the OHM tour and once after Stadium Arcadium.  The latter was one of my favorite shows ever while the One Hot Minute show felt rushed and underwhelming.  Doesn't change my feeling on the record though.
On a sidenote John Frusciante was on fire on the Stadium Arcadium tour.  Lucky to be fairly close about ten rows back his side, incredible.

@dankind Yup I got that shadowbox too, it came with marbles and a few other pointless items. At least the lyric book was cool.

Been listening to Stadium Arcadium this past week. I dropped off the Chillis around this time. But something reignited my interest recently and I’m really digging this album!! 30 songs 2 hrs, plenty of radio hits, but some of the best songs are buried in there. You just have to dig a little to find them! Storm in a Teacup, Wet Sand, Desecration Smile...sublime.

Stadium is such a great listen. Johns best work with the chili’s. Even on some of the lesser songs, his playing keeps me in the song.

Wow.. We're all on the rhcp Stadium Arcadium wavelength today! Not hard for me because it's my favorite album by RHCP, but I try not to listen too much and spoil it. I actually haven't listened in a while and was randomly reminded today of the song Turn It Again. Tied for me for best song off this album with Wet Sand, both epic, ever-changing masterpieces. I tried to fund a live version of Turn It Again and had a hard time. I found this footage. The JFRU solo holy shitbalz. Just start watching at :28. You'll thank me later. Not sure what's up with this song, couldn't find much history of it live besides this. Please enlighten me. It's one of my favorites.
