For younger people, the CDC found between 14% and 20% of adults between the ages of 20 and 44 were hospitalized for coronavirus. About .1 to .2% died from the virus.

I’ve read it, thanks. Was referring to mortality rates not illness in my comments. I have the right to decide who I am most concerned about within my family and friends without your criticism of that, as do you with your loved ones. 

But you are posting in a public forum and are appearing extremely callous that your under 60 friends and family with very treatable and normally minor conditions such as asthma and hypertension may be facing a lethal disease?

You can be happy that if you and your love ones that do not have any underlying illnesses are more than likely going to be ok if and when you get this virus. That does not mean you do not care about any other stats or any other people any less. Why do I even need to explain this out loud? The link above is great news if true for a lot of people and should be posted since it debunks a lot of misinformation that has been spreading around a lot lately.

The situation in Italy is specifically why I don't understand anyone trying to downplay this, or questioning what they perceive to be an overreaction. These are desperate times for Italy, and it's not a third world country.

No, no one needs to stockpile 6 months worth of toilet paper, but with that being said, people SHOULD be staying at home, and bars & restaurants should be closed right now. The economy is f'ed regardless. The priority for everyone right now should be on saving lives & containing the spread.

If you're not paying attention to what's going on Italy and / or think it can't happen where you are, you have your head in the sand.

I have no idea what is driving your thoughts and emotion about my comment. Is it forbidden to take comfort from the fact that some of my loved ones will probably be okay, freeing up a little emotional space so that I can I worry more about others?

Earlier I posted Pardon My Take's interview with Fauci. I'll post it again here because I do find it to be very informative. One of the biggest takeaways is he said you can catch the virus, and not be contagious for a few days, nor have symptoms for a few days. Even worse, you can catch the virus, and test negative for it in the early stages because the virus hasn't fully acclimated (not the right word, but you get the point) to your body. So say for example...

Day 1: You're not feeling well, for whatever reason, but not because of the virus.
Day 2: You're still not feeling well, but at some point today, you've caught the virus.
Day 3: Third straight day of being sick, you feel you need the Co-void test. 
Day 4: You get the test, but you test negative because it's only been in your system for two days
Day 5 on onward: You're walking around thinking you're fine, but you're actually infected and contagious.
