The Democratic Presidential Debates

And everytime you have brought this up -- I have asked: So what makes the US so state of the art u n i q u e l y bad that the rest of the major countries can have a tax funded system and the US could not do it and absolutely not have one? What factor caused that? This unique factor of being bad?mrussel1 said:Obviously if you use the VA as the working model of gov't funded, and gov't provided medical care, it's doesn't really give any of us hope. That has been terribly run, no matter who is the president. And the Chair of VA Affairs at the time of the most controversial issues, that had to be undone by the Obama admin... that's right Bernie Sanders.Post edited by Spiritual_Chaos on"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -
"Circular reasoning" sounds familiar.ecdanc said:
You can always count on mrussel's capitalist cheerleading to rely on this sort of unsubstantiated premise. It's key to his circular reasoning.mrussel1 said:
It's hard to find an example of where a gov't ran something more efficiently than private business. So I don't think that will make a difference and could very well go the other way. Eliminating profit motive is likely folly too, as you need market incentive to invest in research, research that often bears no fruit.cincybearcat said:
Well I think part of it is removing a significant amount of administrative costs. They provide no value just wasted $. I certainly like that aspect. I also am fully on board with no pre-existing condition exclusions. And with people having access to heath care.pjl44 said:
Changing the payor doesn't change the spending. How does he intend to reduce spending/costs?Spiritual_Chaos said:
In the end, hopefully it should cost the average person something like the blue bars in this graph instead of that winning red one. If you are lucky maybe people will live longer, and less babies will die when born also:The Juggler said:Oh man. That 60 Minutes interview was bad.Saying “I don’t know” when asked about how many trillions his plans (that will never get enacted) will cost.Praising Fidel Castro.Folks, this was an interview with ANDERSON COOPER.This is nightmare scenario for those of us who just want to defeat Trump. Ugh.
Im not an expert but my opinion is the move towards it at pace is better. Have it as an option, if it’s the best option more people will move to it.It certainly should be more of an unifying issue than it is really. Now some of the other policies get pretty confrontational.Post edited by Spiritual_Chaos on"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -

AC has always leaned slightly to the right on fiscal issues. And to the left on social issues.Post edited by Spiritual_Chaos on"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -

You're wise to be excited about that. Any of these "no chance in hell" candidates that stick around probably benefit your boy Bernie by taking votes away from the likes of Biden and Bloomberg.Spiritual_Chaos said:

But by saying "it will make you win in November," you're suggesting that I'm a Trump fan, which I'm not. You very, very much seem to be a big fan of Bernie Sanders, as evidenced by all your posts over the past few pages. That's why I referred to him as your boy, as in someone you're a fan of and/or admire.Spiritual_Chaos said:

Well I don’t know about that but I am one of the people that think Sanders could possibly beat Trump. Too many people think he’s hopeless and think Bloomberg would have a better chance. Neither would have a good chance in my opinion. But at least some people (like you!) are excited about Sanders. Not much excitement surrounding the other Dems.Spiritual_Chaos said:

It will also cost us the House
And we won't flip the Senate
Like the last election, people can't see the forest for the trees. There was an opportunity to flip the Supreme Court, and fill a bunch of circuit/appellate court seats. And we lost it. That damage will take a generation to reverse.
You want GOP to control all 3 branches, this is how you do it. You want a Constitutional Convention. This is how you do it.
