Haven’t read any reactions yet; here is mine:Completely new sound! I like it, but will take a bit to adjust. Very groovy.Reminds me of Muse.DC '03 - Reading '04 - Philly '05 - Camden 1 '06 - DC '06 - E. Music video is a little amateurish? Stock bonanza with a ton of super on-the-nose imagery. Meh. Doesn't ruin the song or anything, but I won't be revisiting this. Seems like it was rushed.0

First reaction - clean, crisp, new wavy and reminds me of Devo. Bass is finally up front, thanks Stone. And I'm not living this life without you, I'm selfish and clear
And you're not leaving here without me, I don't wanna be without

For me the part after around 1:40 is just much more enjoyable than the first couple of minutes. I'd like the guitar to be more prominent and perhaps less of Eddie's singing, I don't particularly like how he sings the first few verses.
It's also so much better with headphones.
It is interesting stuff and I do admire the effort to do something unlike what we've call come to expect, but I am not crazy about it after several times listening to it. As many have noted, a lot of 80s/2010s sound there, which some people love and some people don't.
It could have been a LCD Soundsystem song -- just not one of their best ones. It seems like the kind of thing that it may take a couple of albums to get completely right, a change in direction that could lead to very promising new music if the PJ classic sound was a bit more integrated with the new, but at least in this one song it's not quite there yet.

Well, certainly not what I was expecting but that's the point, no? I remember hearing my 1st track off Vs, animal, at MTV music awards...I was less than smitten, I wanted Ten2.0 now it's one of my fave PJ tracks.
Thrilled to have new PJ music.0 -
Thank goodness they’ve mixed it up and tried something completely different!!! We didnt need a watered down, regurgitated version of Ten or Vs, they needed to catch attention whether it be negative or positive. I love it!!“ "Thank you Palestrina. It’s a wonderful evening, it’s great to be here and I wanna dedicate you a super sexy song." " (last words of Mark Sandman of Morphine)

So I'm wondering if the album version is much longer because didn't it say this was a radio edit??Summerfest 7/8/95

Toytly dig the song, but I absolutely hate the drum sound. I don't care in any way for overproduced drums. They should always sound live on a record and these sound like a drum track. I could dig a whole album of weird tunes like this but not if the drums all sound that way.

I do enjoy the back half of the song more than the first half.. really good long outro. Overall very cool and different , I'm cool with that. Nothing like the suspense of hearing a new pj song for the first time0

Anyone hear a Duran Duran or The Police vibe with the layered vocals at the end? Love Stone’s bass grove throughout and the guitar interspersed. The drum treatment is a bit cold and icy unlike their usual warm sound but I get what they were going for. I know there’s a ton of Backspacer/Lightning Bolt defenders but lyrically this feels more like EV. Loving the sarcasm and bit of dread in the lyrics.10.07.96 Ft. Lauderdale, FL
