That whole album (Renegades) is pretty fucking awesome
Their rendition of "How could I just kill a man" is horrible...

I like Renegades and that is pretty much it for me on that album. The Minor Threat cover is good too.
You think so? I love it.

I think the Kick out the Jams cover isn't so hot.

Same...the jam at the end of How I could is kickass

What's the deal with Metallica headlining 2 nights at festivals? They're doing that at Sonic Temple and Rockville, too.

Metallica is playing two different setlists on two separate nights at Rockville. I’m not sure about the other festivals, but i’d assume it’s the same thing.

I’m glad they are fake. The only California shows are at the partial abortion that is Coachella. I want to see Rage but would never subject myself to Coachella for any band. Pearl Jam included. Everything that is wrong in life is summarized by Coachella.
100% Agree!  I'm so glad PJ will play the LA Forum, not a festival.  I love Rage, all albums.  Killing in the name is my favorite song.  Not going to Coachella, hope they play somewhere else.

I’ll be facing a dilemma if they play Boston Calling.

I really don’t want to deal with that shitshow for one band.

Reminds me of when the Pumpkins reunited and I was umming and aahing about missioning it to Reading just for them and having to sit through that shitpile (NIN excepted). They'd sold out Shepherds Bush Empire and I was whinging about it to my cousin. He asked "How much is the ticket?" I said "£70". He said "How much is a train?" I said "£30". He said "So, with that mission and the ticket and food, drinks etc, you'd spend at least £100, right?" I said "Yeah, probably",at which point he said "Right, so you owe me £100". Fucker picked up two tickets to the Shepherds Bush gig on eBay. Since he lived off Shepherds Bush Road the "mission" was a two minute walk. Win

I would like to see Rage again, but based on the lineup, I'm not even motivated to look at the prices.

I think I'll keep my Memorial Day open.

Yeah the Saturday lineup sucks donkey balls aside from Rage.
Sunday is overall the best lineup, but only venturing into that fray one time. So will just do a late Saturday arrival.
Probably going to be stupid money to essentially just see Rage, but I'm sure this will be their only show in New England, and who knows if/when they may be back.

Not as yet. Would think sometime in next couple weeks. They'll try and sell more 3 day passes right now (just bumped those up to $399 this morning from $339) with the bounce from the announcement.

Thats a pretty big jump. Wish I could have bought the $339 GA ticket but the prices of accommodations are crazy in Boston that weekend. Way too expensive of a trip. I am going to just do RATM. Whats your plans?

Just going to do Saturday, and probably just head in at night. Basically treat it like a Rage concert and skip all the afternoon stuff.

That won't be happening.  They sign contracts that they aren't allowed to do them in a couple hundred mile radius.

Tool played in Augusta, ME the night before their headlining Boston Calling set. Maybe it's a 150 mile radius or bands can negotiate or who knows.

Edit: It was actually Bangor, so maybe 200 is the number. They did Rochester 2 nights later.
