Patriot is quirky, irreverent, laugh out loud funny and heart-breakingly devastating.  Thanks for the recommendation.  It had been in my watchlist for a while.  Glad I was finally able to sit down and watch it.  Wish there were more seasons.
Excellent review!!! Have you watched the show Catastrophe? It is also quirky and laugh out loud funny.
I did.  I have mixed feelings about it.  It was very much in the same vein as Patriot, but I found the characters were often mean, petty and selfish.  They were often cruel with their words and actions.  It made it hard for me to care about them.  Characterisations like that are one if the reasons that I never liked the Seinfeld sitcom.

In Patriot the characters, even the seemingly asshole ones, cared about others and made honest attempts to connect.
I think that is why I didn't finish the third season of Catastrophe, now that you mention it. I was happy because they started having more episodes with Carrie Fisher, but you're right the characters became more petty and it was difficult to watch.

My niece and nephew wanted to watch Spaceballs on Christmas Eve.  We made it about 8 minutes and all five of us agreed this is terrible and must end.
How dare you? That's a great movie

Yes, TruTV and Netflix. To be fair, you can buy it and stream it on Amazon.

I'm glad I started watching The Expanse. That show has been awesome. I am halfway through season 3 already. I love the characters and the story has been great. It's also always fun to see actors show up that I remember from old shows. Anyone else enjoy playing the game where you try to remember where you have seen that actor before? As a huge fan of The Wire, seeing Fred Johnson played by "Cutty" was a treat. Then trying to recall where I had seen Chrisjen (24) and Jules-Pierre Mao (Lost video tapes guy) before was great too because it was their voices that I remembered the most from shows that I loved over a decade ago. It seems they have recruited a fair share of Lost and 24 actors that had minor or major (Elizabeth Mitchell) roles.
    It's a hopeless situation...

Yay!  So glad that you’re enjoying the show.  Was planning on doing a re-watch, but decided to do a re-watch of The Americans first.

What's the deal with the Jack Ryan series. Is it legit or is it over over-the-top cliché action/spy drama.
I'm almost at the end of the first season. It's definitely over the top clich spy stuff but it is entertaining enough to keep me interested.

Always tough for me to take Jim Halpert seriously in any other role though

The Expanse is one of the best shows on rn imo. I've started reading the books after the 4th season because I can't get enough of the verse.

We watched Rob Delaney: Jackie earlier.

If you liked Catastrophe (I loved it), you'll dig this.  I adore how twisted his mind is - add humor to it?  You have my heart.

I'm knew to Amazon Prime, but am loving it so far.
Got it purely to watch Fleabag and smashed both those seasons and LOVED it.

Have watched both Jack Ryan seasons and enjoyed that. I'm a big fan of John Krasinski, so that may have raised my rating, but was definitely a solid series.

Watched the first episode of Homecoming and not sure what to make of it. I normally really enjoy shows that are a bit different or even odd, but this definitely didn't grab me at the first episode. Is it worth continuing?

It was an interesting plot and the acting was on point. I enjoyed watching it, but wouldn’t consider it stellar.

Goliath is pretty good.  Really liked the first 2 seasons...season 3 was pretty weird but I still liked it.  Check out Sneaky Pete too...that's my favorite show on Prime Video.

where do they go for season 3, if there is one.
there was 2 years between 1 and 2 I think.

edit, just checked imdb and season 3 this year. but imdb only shows 6 episodes right now? not 10 like the previous 2 seasons. not showing dates either. just 2020......
